Blues get first commitment for 2016 season

Montreal wide receiver joins OUA team’s 2016 class

Patrick Bourque will be returning north of the border for the next stage of his gridiron career.

The 6’0, 180 pound wide receiver from Montreal, Quebec has signed with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. Ā Bourque will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Ultimately, the combination of both academics and football made it the perfect fit for Bourque.

“I decided to sign with the University of Toronto because, first and foremost, I want to pursue a career in business and I believe that there is no other school in Canada that can provide me with better opportunity to do so then Rotman,” elaborated Bourque. Ā “Secondly, after meeting and speaking with the coaching staff, I strongly believe that the football program at University of Toronto is headed in right direction.”

“I am truly excited to be apart of the next chapter of Varsity Blues football.”

For the past two years, the offensive standout suited up for Concord, New Hampshire prep team St. Paul’s Big Red. Ā In eight games during the 2015, Bourque amassed 615 receiving yards and scored three touchdowns. Moreover, he was 4/4 on field goal attempts up to 40 yards. Ā The wide receiver played a significant role on special teams as a return specialsts and kicker.

Previous to the Big Red, Bourque played two seasons wtih Montreal’s Selwyn House.
