CFC 100 recruit looking forward to working with Constantin

Laval Rouge et Or has landed another CFC 100 recruit.

Vincent Desjardins has signed with the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

For the 6ā€™1, 250 pound defensive lineman from Quebec City, Quebec, it was a difficult decision but the opportunity to be instructed by Head Coach Glen Constantin tipped the scale in the Rouge et Orā€™s direction. Additionally, he will extend a family tradition by attending the Quebec school.

ā€œIt was a tough choice,ā€ explained Desjardins, who also indicated installations, conditioning and the fan base were decisive factors.Ā  ā€œAt the end, it was between Laval and Montreal.ā€

ā€œI had a great feeling about U de M and its city, but at the end I think the coaching staff at Laval, especially Glen Constantin as the defensive Line coach, is the main factor why I choose Laval. I was willing to go out of town as I also considered Western, Queenā€™s and McGill, but in the end, everything that I wanted out of a university was right here in Quebec and I am thrill to prove that the best football in Canada is played right here in Quebec City. I will study civil engineering and at the same time following my parentā€™s footsteps as both of them have studied it at Laval.ā€

The CFC 100 lineman recently completed a stint with CEGEP Division 1 team, Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF). Previous to CEGEP, Desjardins suited up for his high school team, RSEQ Juvenile Division 1ā€™s Seminaire Saint Francois Blizzard.

With Desjardins commitment, the Rouge et Or have eight CFC 100 recruits. The others include defensive end Mathieu Betts, linebacker Cedric Lussier-Roy, quarterback Samuel Chenard, defensive back Louis-Philippe St.Amant, defensive end Marc-Antoine Ouellet as well as offensive linemen Pierre-Karl Lanctot and Samuel Thomassin.
