Windsor running back becomes first CFC 100 recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

CFC 100 Marcus Kentner will be beginning his CIS career in Hamilton.

This past week, the 5ā€™9, 170 pound running back from Windsor, Ontario committed to the McMaster Marauders.Ā  Kentner will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

ā€œThere are a million reasons as to why I chose McMaster but to name a few I would have to say a tremendous coaching staff, excellent academic reputation and the feeling that you arenā€™t committing to a team,ā€ explained the CFC 100 standout of his decision.Ā  ā€œYou are committing to a family.ā€

ā€œMore specifically Coach [Stefan] Ptaszek, Coach [Jon] Behie and Coach [Al] Anonech made their interest in my talent very obvious and I enjoyed that. They have a very impressive program finding themselves in the Vanier three of the last four years.Ā  I plan on attending McMaster to have a great academic and athletic career on my way to either the CFL or law school.ā€

Marcus Kentner commitment

Kentner recently completed his high school career with CFC # 3ā€™s W.F Herman Green Griffins of the Windsor and Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association (WECSSAA).Ā  The offensive standout guided the team to their seventh City Championship as well as their third consecutive OFSAA Bowl win. In the OFSAA Bowl, the CFC 100 running back had 126 yards on 15 carries.

In addition to the Green Griffins, Kentner has also suited up for the Essex Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). Not only is he a running back, but Kentner has also found success as a receiver and on special teams.
