With everything that is going at SMU ,will they still remain the AUS' most consistent and dominant program or was sumarah really the ideal man for the program , I'm afraid the next years will be different , any thoughts ?

I heard that a decision will be made in the next week. Heard some good candidates out of the short list.

Its hard to read what is going on at good old SMU right now. From an outsider perspective, whomever the next HC is will have to be someone with a name i.e. have to make a splash with this one.
Sumarah was well regarded by all excpet maybe the AD. The staff left behind is experienced and a good one. Will they be retained by the new HC ?? Time will tell. The AD should really be feeling the pressure on this one. They are going to be behind in the recruiting process for this year and certainly that team down the road is coming on strong.
As a SMU fan I've got my fingers firmly crossed (hard to type).

Five people phone interviewed this week are leroy blugh, perry marchese, heath weir, andy mcevoy, jeff steinberg. Two high school coaches, 1 fired junior coach, and only 2 with recent CIS experience
