#CFC10 CEGEP (coll. Div. 1) rankings: [5]: The top four shuffle

The defending champs are on top and the first four are equal at 4-1.

sean-cote

Champlain DB #24 Sean Côté

#1 Champlain-Lennoxville  Regional College Cougars (CRC) 4-1 – The Cougars are in a new QB era with two rookies battling for the starting position and Thomas Bolduc just took over the show. Without RB Thomas Bertrand-Hudon, Bolduc managed the passing attack like a 3rd year veteran and generated a burst of confidence on offence to put the defending champs on top.

#2 Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy Le Notre-Dame (CNDF) 4-1 – The number 1 ranked team at the beginning of the season, found its mojo this weekend with a convincing win over the struggling Nomades. Coach Dion’s troop dominated on both sides of the ball and regained their winning swag.

vanier

Vanier WR #19 Samuel Emilus

#3 Vanier College Cheetahs (VC) 4-1 – The defence provoked some opportunities to come away with a last minute win. A nail biter this game was and the Cheetahs will need some fine tuning on offence to reclaim last week’s spot, at number one.

louis-philippe-maltais

Phénix RB #26 Louis-Philippe Maltais

#4 Collège André-Grasset Phénix (CAG) 4-1 – The Phénix is grinding slowly and gaining confidence all around. The offence found its groove back and the defence is created havoc for the Faucons offence. They stay put at number 4 and will have the opportunity to move up next week, with a win against Garneau.

#5 Cégep du Vieux-Montréal Spartiates (CVM) 3-2 – Again, the offence generated some points and managed the clock with the running game. The defence stopped the Élans, who lost their QB in the first series, and Kicker Benjamin Lies put 2 in between the uprights to seal the deal. From #8, the Spartiates escalade to #5 with this victory.

#6 Cégep Garneau Élans (CG) 2-3 – Tough loss in many ways for the Élans, with their starting QB Joé Hudon leaving the game with an injury in the first series, a few key defenders banged-up, and losing by four points in a matchup that put them in favour of a win.

#7 Cégep de Limoilou Titans (CL) 2-3 – The Titans defence stunned the Vanier offence that had scored only 9 points with 1:09 left on the clock in the fourth quarter. The offence crumbled and gave this one away and will need to fix a center-QB exchange problem.

jordan-duprey

Géants WR #10 Jordan Duprey

#8 Cégep de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Géants (CSJR) 2-3 – Scoring 35 points again this week, wasn’t enough for a win against the revamped defending champs. The Saint-Jean defence was manipulated by a rookie QB. Defence wins championships and hopefully, this unit may be more mature by the end of the season.

levis

#9 Cégep Lévis-Lauzon Faucons (CLL) 0-5 – Losing RB Samuel Cameron last week, did affect the offensive production and the defence had their hands full trying to stop the Phénix’s well balanced offence.

#10 Collège Montmorency Nomades (CML) 0-5 – The offence did manage to move the ball in the air, but without a run game to support the young QB, they are predictable. The defence is struggling and stopping the CNDF offensive surge, was overwhelming.
