#CFC10 SUMMER RANKINGS – VARSITY (10): Dolphins, Lions make late push & status quo at the top

VARSITY (UNDER 20) TOP TEN RANKINGS – WEEK 10 (previous week’s ranking in parenthesis)

1) OTTAWA MYERS RIDERS (1) 8-0 OVFL (won 38-13 vs. Durham West) The Riders cap another perfect season with a 38-13 win over the Dolphins and now get ready to defend both their OVFL crown and their #CFC10 top spot.  Next up: First Round Bye

2) ESSEX RAVENS (2) 7-1 OVFL (won 33-6 vs. Etobicoke) Exact same script as the 2014 regular season….lose the opener to Niagara then run the table. With the 7-1 finish the Ravens lay claim to the Wettges title and the home field advantage that goes with it.  Next up: First Round Bye

3) GUELPH JR. GRYPHONS (3) 7-1 OFC  (did not play)  The Jr. Gryphons are on a six game winning streak and head into the playoffs as OFC South regular season champs.  Next up: vs. Brantford (OFC South Semifinal)

4) TORONTO JR. ARGOS (4) 8-0 OFC (won 49-3 @ Oakville) In week 4 the Jr. Argos squeaked by the Oakville Titans 13-12. This one was never in doubt with Toronto hammering the Titans 49-3. The Jr. Argos finish the season as one of only two unbeaten teams in the province.  Next up: vs. Sudbury (OFC North Semifinal)

5) HAMILTON HURRICANES (6) 7-1 OFC (did not play) The Hurricanes finish in the top five and with QB Liam Putt and RB Osayi Iginuan leading a star-studded attack, the Canes are amongst the favourites to win the OFC.  Next up: vs. #8 Burlington (OFC South Semifinal)

6) LONDON JR MUSTANGS (7) 6-2 OVFL (did not play) London may be the OVFL darkhorse, but must be cautious not to take the Mississauga Wildcats lightly. The ‘Stangs opened the season with a 40-29 win over the Wildcats, but as they are well aware, QB Kevin John keeps Mississauga in any game.  Next up: vs. Mississauga (Adam Conference WIldcard)

7) NIAGARA SPEARS (5) 6-2 OVFL (lost 38-34 vs. Mississauga) How quickly things change. Two weeks ago an unbeaten season looked likely for the Spears…..   Next up: vs. First Round Bye

8) BURLINGTON STAMPEDERS (9) 6-2 OFC  (did not play) The Stamps finished the season with back to back losses, but both losses were very tight, winnable games against fellow OFC powers. Unfortunately it doesn’t get any easier at this time of year as they square of against #5 Hamilton in a rematch of a week seven 20-18 loss.  Next up: @ #5 Hamilton Hurricanes

9) DURHAM WEST DOLPHINS (NR) 6-2 OVFL (lost 38-13 @ Myers)  Next up: First Round Bye

10) CAMBRIDGE LIONS (NR) 5-3 OFC (won 44-25 @ SSM) With the 44-25 win over the Soo, the Lions climb back into the #CFC10, setting up a Wildcard rematch with the Sabercats.  Next up: vs. SSM (Adam Conference WIldcard)

Dropped Out: Sault Ste. Marie Sabercats (10)

***Honourable Mention***  Sault Ste. Marie Sabercats (OVFL), Brantford Bisons (OFC), Kingston Grenadiers (OVFL), Peterborough Wolverines (OFC)
