No. 1 St. Francis Browns (3-1, 1-0) 16
No. Ā 20 Henry Wise Wood Warriors (4-0, 0-1) 28
No one saw this coming, but the Wise Wood faithful. The game can probably be described by saying that the Warriors front line, both D and O controlled the game, especially on defense. Both HWW’s defensive ends #CFC100 Tyrese Best and potential Brigham Wilson, made significant contributions along with DB Frank Burns. These three led a defense that forced 4 interceptions, returning one of them for a pick 6. St. Francis never really got on track and had to shuffle their line-up because of injuries andĀ #CFC100 Izquierdo didn’t play and hasn’t played since the Aberhart game earlier in the season. Defensively, the Browns had a couple key injuries and had to shuffle some defensive players causing them to play out of position which was also a factor in the final outcome. Either way, this was a great victory for Henry Wise Wood, and eye opener for the Browns, and should lead to a great playoff re-match.

Even though I’m not playing tonight… I can’t wait to see my boys ball out tonight! ?#Team31 #BallOut

No. 3 Bev Facey Falcons (7-0, 2-0) 46
Paul Kane (1-6) 14
Bev Facey cruised to another victory this past weekend with their win against Paul Kane 46-14. Facey will need to start the engines that have just been idling to this point as they gear up to meet 7-0 Harry Ainlay on Friday which could be potentially the game of the week in the country.

No. 6 Leboldus Golden Suns (6-0, 1-0) v. O’Neil Titans (1-5)Ā [playoffs Round 2]
Friday, Oct. 28 @ 5:15pm,Ā Mosaic Stadium

New Westminster Hyacks

No. 7 Mount Douglas Rams (3-1, 3-0) 19
No. 38 New Westminster Hyacks (2-1, 2-1) 45
Source: Mount Douglas Rams & New Westminster Hyacks
The Rams faced some adversity Friday night but put forth a strong first half performance and held a slim 13 to 9 lead.Ā  However, the second half was a different story as New West dominated in the 3rd quarter en route to a 45 to 19 victory. Ā “Losing is part of the process for improving and the Varsity team will re-group, work to improve and make all necessary adjustments” states head coach Mark Townsend.Ā Josh Lucas had 10 receptions for 144 yards, plus had an outstanding 97 yard kick off return. Defensively,Ā Jake Ounsted and Isaiah Cardilicchia led the Rams in tackles with 7 each. After a slow start and going into half down 13-9, the Hyacks exploded for 30 points in the 3rd quarter. Special teams, after giving up an early kickoff return for a touchdown, dominated in the 3rd quarter blocking a punt, scoring a touchdown, and flipping the field with 2 outstanding punt returns, one which brought the ball back to the Mount Doug 3 yard line and another outstanding game by punter Rory Anjos who also hit a 48 yard field goal. Offensively, New West was led by RB Lucas Savu who had 171 yards rushing on 15 carries to go along with 2 touchdowns. Defensively, LB Connor Pattison had 6 solos, 2 assists, 2 QB sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 forced fumble. The most telling stat of the game was the number of rushing yards which was 282 for New West and -21 for Mount Douglas. “Thereā€Ž is no doubt that we were also very fortunate that Gideone didn’t play. He’s an exceptional player and they’re a different team when he’s in the game. Also they play their best football at the end of the season, so I’m sure they’ll be there at the end again.”

No. 9 St. Paul’s Crusaders (7-0) 52
Oak Park Raiders (4-3) 6
St. Paul’s came out with another convincing win this weekend as they finished off their regular season and go into playoffs 7-0. In dominant fashion, the Crusaders outscored their opponents 305 to 39. Can anyone touch St. Paul’s in the post season.

No. 11 Terry Fox Ravens (5-0, 0-2) 51
Mission Roadrunners (1-4) 7
Terry Fox remains undefeated for another week and has yet to face any real competition as they blow through their opponents each week. Several players on the Ravens team continue to stand out in #CFC100 RB Jeremie Kankolongo who had 2 touchdowns and rushed for 120 yards. QB Jaden Shanley threw for 2 and had his own rushing touchdown. This is the Roadrunners first season playing AAA as they were moved up from last year. They will need to step their game up if they want to enjoy the same success, but at a higher level.

No. 17 Vincent Massey Trojans (6-1, 0-1) 39
Sturgeon Hts. Collegiate Huskies (4-3) 13
The Trojans continue to chase St. Paul’s as they beat the Huskies 39-13 this past weekend. They relied on a dominate ground game as they churned out 300 yards on the ground, averaging over 10 yards a carry. Starting QB Andreas Dueck had 195 yards passing to go along with 3 touchdown passes. He also threw a very uncharacteristic 3 interceptions. The Trojans also got a very impressive performance by receiver Jude Tanghe who had 6 catches for 181 yards. Massey looks to go into playoffs at 6-1 and is on a collision course with St. Paul’s.

No. 18 Harry Ainlay Titans (7-0, 1-0)
bye – Bev Facey next

No. 24 Holy Cross Crusaders (SK) (4-1, 1-0) 20
No. 30 Centennial Chargers (SK) (6-0) 25
In an upset win for the Chargers, they relied heavily on an impressive running attack which accounted for 174 of their 253 yards of total offense. 75 of these yards coming from one play from RB Matthew Baraniuk who on the day had 25 carries for 135 yards and 1 touchdown. For Holy Cross, Dominic Gursky had 2 catches for 102 yards, both catches resulting in touchdowns. Defensively. Centennial was led by Jacob Mozill who had 7 tackles, 1 assist, 3 QB sacks and a forced fumble. Holy Cross was led by Jace Wingate who had 7 solos, 1 assist, and 1 QB sack. The game was tight and defensive in nature, but ultimately Centennial’s ability to move the ball on the ground when they needed to was the deciding factor.

#12 QB Declan O’Flaherty

No. 31 Notre Dame Pride (3-2, 0-1) 0
Centennial Coyotes (4-1) 28
Centennial pulled off a win against Notre Dame in what was supposed to be a win for the Pride. The Coyotes have been underrated all season and proved in this game that they deserve to run with the big boys of southern Alberta.

No. 34 L.C.I. Rams (5-0, 2-2) 45
Winston Churchill 6
LCI continues to improve each week as they beat Churchill 45-6 without key contributors Tanner Sudo who has proved to be one of the top backs in Western Canada this year. We can only assume they were resting some starters prior to a bye and heading into the playoffs.

No. 36 Tantramar Regional Titans (7-0) 27
Riverview (5-2) 10
Tantramar had their most competitive game of the season so far, but still won 27-10 to push their record to 7-0 and stay undefeated. Once again, it was the Aidan O’Neal show as he carried the ball 44 times for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns. We, here at CFC, are trying to figure out how one human being can carry the ball 44 times and still be alive at the end of the game.

No. 37 Notre Dame Jugglers (3-1, 2-1) 28
Belmont Bulldogs (1-3) 14
The Jugglers got back on track with a solid win versus an undermanned Belmont team. QB Steve Moretto returned from injury and threw 3 touchdowns leading the team to a 28-14 win over the Bulldogs. Belmont moved the ball well on offense, but could not get the ball in the end zone. Starting QB Darian Jules threw for 347 yards, 197 of them to Eli Nelms-Horton who had 197 yards receiving. Belmont had close to 500 yards of offense, but only scored 14 points as turnovers plagued the Bulls who turned the ball over 5 times which would eventually be their undoing.

No. 39 Vancouver College Fighting Irish (3-2, 2-1) 27
South Delta Sun Devils (2-2) 26
(Source: South Delta Rams, Vancouver College Fighting Irish)
South Delta almost completed a dramatic upset over Vancouver College this weekend as the Sun Devils scored with under a minute remaining, however, failed to score on a 2-point convert which went on to be the difference in a 1-point loss to VC. Once again, VC relied on their ground game as their leading rusher, Alfred Dela-Cruz who had 23 carries for 189 yards to go along with 3 rushing touchdowns. The Irish had 290 yards rushing with 4 rushing touchdowns which accounted for all of their scoring. Defensively, the player of the game was Isaiah States who had 13 tackles and 2 QB sacks.

No. 45 Cobequid Ed. Centre Cougars (6-1) 49
Horton High (1-6) 19
CEC had no trouble getting the win on this won as they came out on top over Horton high 49-19 and improve their record to 6-1. They will play Dartmouth high this upcoming week before they go into playoffs.

No. 48 Riffel Royals (4-2) v.Ā Campbell (4-2) [playoffs Round 2]
Friday, Oct. 28 @ 7:30pm,Ā Mosaic
