#CFC50 High School Rankings (7): New #1

For the sixthΒ year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as theΒ #CFC50.

Nothing lasts forever.

Case and point the Notre Dame Pride’s grip on the top spot in the #CFC50.

Up until today’s rankings, the Pride was the top ranked in the rankings since November 25th, 2013. They relinqush their 23 month reign on the top spot to the team that snapped their 37 game winning streak last week – St. Francis Browns. Β The Browns handed the Pride their first defeat since 2011 with a 31-10 victory.

In a week filled with championship rematches nationally, #CFC50 team Mount Douglas Rams got redemption in British Columbia as they scored a 39-6 win over former #CFC50 team, South Delta Sun Devils. Β Last fall, the Sun Devils shocked the Rams to take the ‘AAA’ Provincial Championship.

Down in Niagara, #CFC50 AN Myer Marauders crushed St. Paul Patriots 25-0 in a rematch of the 2014 ‘AAA’ Final. Β Pivot Tre Ford passed for 239 yards for the Marauders.

Finally, there are two new entries in this week’s edition the #CFC50 – both from the Ontario region. Β Toronto’s Birchmount Park Panthers make their entrance after earning a 42-0 shutout victory against East York Goliaths. Β Additionally, Burlington’s Corpus Christi Longhorns join the rankings and keep their undefeated record intact with a 35-21 win over St Thomas Aquinas Raiders.

TOP 10:

#1 St. Francis Browns (Calgary, AB) Β 4-0 Β –Β The Browns ended former #CFC50 top ranked Notre Dame Pride’s 37 game winning streak with a 31 victory. Β #CFC100 Des Catellier connected with both Jonah Dimnik andΒ Jacob Izquierdo for majors. Also,Β Chinoso Obeta added a 62 yard score and Jacob Geremia added a touchdown . Next up for the Browns is a battle against Bishop O’Byrne on Thursday.

#2 WF Herman Green Griffins (Windsor, ON) 4-0-Β Kaine Stevenson tallied two majors as the Green Griffins crused Belle River Nobles 44-0. Delmas Lynch, Brandon McCrainey, Quinton Seguin, #CFC100 jalen Jackson and Dante Lewis each scored a touchdown. Β The Green Griffins will play St. Anne Saints on Thursday afternoon.

#3 Seminaire Saint-Francois Blizzard (Quebec, QC) 8-0 –Β The Blizzard dismantled Academie Les Estacades 42-7. Β This week, the Blizzard hope to end their regular season campaign on a pefect note as they host Triolet Harfangs on Saturday afternoon.

#4Β St. Paul Crusaders (Winnipeg, MB) 6-0 – Β In a rematch of the 2014 ‘AAA’ Provincial Championship, Riley Naujoks completed nine passes in 17 attempts for 250 passing yards as the Crusaders thumped Oak Park Raiders 34-7. Β Next up, the Crusaders host Garden City Gophers on Thursday night.

#5Β Leboldus Golden Suns (Regina, SK) 6-0 –Β Semba Mbasela was unstoppable as he scored three touchdowns and rushed for 272 yards on 23 carries as the Golden Suns routed Winston Knoll Wolverines 62-0. Playoffs are next for the Golden Suns as the regular season wrapped up this past weekend.

#6 Lorne Park Spartans (Mississauga, ON) 4-0 –Β Alex Lavric completed 18 passes in 29 attempts for 266 yards and four passing touchdowns to guide the Spartans to a 34-6 victory over St. Marcellinus Spirit. Β This week, the Spartans enjoy a bye week.

#7 Β Bev Facey Falcons (Sherwood Park, AB) 6-0 –Β The Falcons cruised to a 62-3 win over Austin O’Brien Crusaders. Β Next up for the Falcons is a meeting with Spruce Grove on Friday night.

#8Β Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam, BC) 3-0 –Β Taylor Poitras scored two touchdowns and rushed for 169 yards as the Ravens defeated Kelowna Owls 27-13. Β The Ravens will host St. Thomas More Knights on Friday night.

#9 Β Mount Douglas Rams (Victoria, BC) 2-0 –Β Justice Kremier completed 20 passes in 26 attempts for 178 yards and three passing touchdowns as the Rams upended South Delta Sun Devils 39-6. Β Declann MichielinΒ scored two touchdowns, rushed for 103 yards, registered right tackles and two interceptions. Β This week, the Rams will host New Westminster Hyacks on Friday afternoon.

#10 Β Notre Dame Pride (Calgary, AB) 3-1 –Β The Pride’s 37 game winning streak was snapped last week in a 34-10 loss to new CFC#1 team, St. Francis Browns. Ryan Smith scored a touchdown whileΒ Roberto Montemurro added a 40 yard field goal. Β The Pride will try to get back into the win column as the team visits Centennial Coyotes on Thursday.

How is the #CFC50 evaluated?

The #CFC50 is a relative ranking that considers top tier leagues (listed below) from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province).Β  The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of twenty-four CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and also selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis.Β  This is the sixth year that Canadafootballchat.com has ranked the top high school teams in Canada.

Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man 4A, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia Tier 1

Non-PublicΒ schools will be considered in their own rankings (new 2015).
