CJFL Offensive POW

PFC WEEK 5:

Running Back – #22 Wayndel Lewis – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Saskatoon Hilltops offense compiled their best game of the season in a 68-17 blasting of the Edmonton Huskies.  The Toppers’ run game was unstoppable led by the Offensive Player of the Week, running back Wayndel Lewis.  He rushed 16 times for 274 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns.  He also caught one pass for 23 yards, giving him 297 all-purpose yards.

BCFC WEEK 8:

Quarterback – #15 Hunter Lake – Westshore Rebels

The Westshore Rebels fell just short in Week 8, but saw an outstanding performance from quarterback Hunter Lake who did all he could with his arm AND his legs.  Lake used his arm and completed 21 of 41 for 381 yards and threw a touchdown pass.  His legs carried him 10 times for 115 yards.  This is the second time this season Lake has been named the “BC Lions Offensive Player of the Week.”

PFC WEEK 5:

Defensive Back – #2 Jalahni Knorren – Edmonton Wildcats

Despite the Edmonton Wildcats falling for the second straight game at home, defensive back Jalahni Knorren was awesome.  The Defensive Player of the Week compiled a Conference high 11 solo tackles for 22 defensive points.  It’s Knorren’s first PFC defensive honour, after winning the Offensive honour last season with the Langley Rams as their quarterback.

BCFC WEEK 8:

Defensive Lineman – #55 Zak Ironstand – Okanagan Sun

The Okanagan Sun defense played extremely well holding the VI Raiders to just seven points.   The Sun recorded seven sacks, led by the “BC Lions Defensive Player of the Week” Zak Ironstand.   The veteran recorded two and a half sacks, two solo tackles, assisted on two and recovered a fumble.  It’s the second consecutive week a Sun defender has won this award.

 

CJFL Special Teams POW

PFC WEEK 5:

Kicker #9 Brett Thorarinsson – Saskatoon Hilltops

Everything was clicking for the Saskatoon Hilltops this past weekend.  All three fascets of the game got on the scoreboard.  The Special Teams Player of the Week is kicker Brett Thorarinsson who scored 18 points, connecting on four field goals including one from 46 yards out and six converts.  He also collected seven kick-offs averaging 55 yards and two punts with a 40 yard average.

BCFC WEEK 8:

Kicker – #30 Steve Thomas – Langley Rams

The “BC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week” is Langley Rams kicker Steve Thomas.  He was a perfect 3-3 in field goals (17,32,37), hitting the 31st of his career and setting a new Rams single season record.  He was also 5-5 in coverts, recorded three punts averaging 42.6 yards and six kick-offs averaging 57.3 yards.  This is the third time this season alone Thomas has won this weekly award.
