Moreover, Alex played for the Niagara Spears of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and was team offensive MVP. Not only was the running back the team MVP twice for the Bulldogs, but he also experienced the highlight of his young gridiron career thus far with the team.

“My most memorable football experience was when I was in Grade 10 and the starting running back for our high school football team,” comments Alex. “It went down the second play of the championship game.”

“They put me in game and I ended up rushing for 130 yards and winning MVP of the championship game.”

The offensive standout wants to realize a childhood dream by moving back to native province in the fall. As a result, he recently committed to the University of Manitoba.

“The reason for choosing the University of Manitoba is because I had grown up most of my life there and would love to return to play football for the University,” explains the future Bisons player of his reasons to commit to the school. “It was always a dream of mine as a younger child but never thought I would get the opportunity doing while playing in Manitoba.”

“I believe moving to Ontario gave me a great chance to showcase my skills across Canada but I am very excited about the University of Manitoba’s new facilities.”

NFL great LaDainian Tomlinson is a player that Alex tries to emulate on the field because of his “amazing ability to make cuts and his great elusiveness”.” Off the field, his family members have been the main influences on his life.

“The most influential people in my life are definitely my parents for getting me into football and putting up with all the traveling I have had to do,” says the Bulldogs running back. “Also, my grandfather is my biggest inspiration because he played football when he was my age and moved on to play football in the States.”

Academically ,one goal Alex would like to achieve is graduating from the Asper School of Business when he attends the University of Manitoba. Once he gets his Master’s degree in Finance, he would like to pursue a career as a financial advisor.

As he gets set to realize his dreams in his native home province, Alex will take with him the recipe that has led him to success in all aspects of life.

“Football has taught me never to give up no matter what,” comments Alex. “If you just continue to work hard at what you are set out to do, you can achieve anything your heart desires.”

“The main lesson is to never give up on your dreams.”
