Ryan started his football career in the North Bay youth league in grade 7. In grade 10 (2010) he helped his high school team win a North Bay District championship (the junior teams first title since 1973). Recently, Ryan has been attending a variety of camps in the United States to garner the exposure he feels he needs to attend an American school.

His most memorable football experience was when “I won MVP at the NUC combine in Virginia and also when our team won the regional championship after not winning the junior varsity championship for 36 years.”

He credits his junior football coach “Ryan Desbien” for helping him with his football skills and his weightlifting coach “Larry Sheppard has helped me with a variety of things in my life.”

Ryan takes his football and training serious (5.5 40 yd dash, 4.7 shuttle) but also is serious in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA. He is aiming for a criminology degree in university. His primary football position is guard but he has the ability to play tackle as well. Ryan believes he has the knowledge and leadership needed to continue to be a great player and for his size has good agility and footwork. Ryan was an OFSAA (provincial) champion in the midget boys discus throw in 2010. His winning throw at the OFSAA meet was 49.57 metres.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
