OTTAWA, ONTARIO - During the fifth IFAF Flag Football World Championship, players nominated Rosa Rivera from Mexico, Shana Sprung from Israel, Sebastian Schumacher from Germany and Junyoung Chang from Korea to represent flag football on the International Federation of American Football Athlete's Commission.

In response to an increasing number of requests from parents regarding programs for girls, the Capital Area Minor Football Association will be launching a new Girls Flag Football program for players enrolled at any middle school in the Capital Area. Teams will practise and play games on Saturday afternoons starting Sept. 11. The season concludes Oct. 30. First practice sessions will be Aug. 24 and 26 at Barker's Point School field from 6-8 p.m.

Ottawa, ON - The Flag Football Canadian National Championships concluded Monday afternoon on the Carleton University campus in Ottawa. In the largest division of nine teams, the Under 15 division, team Manitoba captured the gold medal with a 26 to 13 win over team Ontario. Team Manitoba’s road to the finals went through a semi- final matchup against team Quebec at 8 A.M. followed by a 31- 7 win against team Alberta in the semi- finals. Manitoba was able to overcome a 12- 6 opening game loss to team Saskatchewan and a 33 to 20 loss in their last round robin game to capture gold.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2010 - OTTAWA, ONTARIO - The 2010 IFAF Men's and Women's All-Tournament teams have been announced following the Gold Medal game that was played at the RA Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

For the second month in a row, a team representing British Columbia has earned a medal at a national football tournament hosted by Football Canada.

Manitoba's under-15 flag football team won the gold medal at the Canadian Flag Football Championships in Ottawa Monday.
