Elite Performance Academy is bringing the coaching staff of the Syracuse Orange to Ottawa for a one day football camp on Sunday June 3. The Elite Football Academy Camp will provide the players that you coach, with the chance to perform in front of and be taught by some of the NCAA’s top football minds. This prestigious event is an outstanding opportunity for our young athletes.


As part of our weekend program of events, we are offering you, the high school and minor football coaches, the opportunity to meet, talk to and network with the coaching staff of the Syracuse Orange. On the evening of Saturday, June 2, we will be holding the Coaches’ Huddle, an informal gathering of coaches to discuss strategies, techniques, recruiting, motivation, and basically just talk football.


Your registration in the Coaches’ Huddle will also grant you priority access at the Camp to observe the Syracuse University and Elite Football Academy coaches as they teach the athletes the tools and techniques needed to take their game to the next level. You will have the opportunity to hear the coaching cues and learn the drills they use to help players reach their full potential. You will also have access to the Parents’ Symposium, a panel of experts that we have put together to talk about the recruiting process, the importance of strength and conditioning and athletic nutrition.

ELITE FOOTBALL COACHES’ HUDDLE | Elite Performance Academy

The Elite Football Academy Camp - with Special Guests Syracuse University - takes place on Sunday June 3, 2012 and will be hosted by Ashbury College in Rockcliffe. Registration will be limited to 16 players per position (QBs will be limited to 8). Registration will be on a 1st come - 1st served basis, and requires all forms AND payment be completed in order to confirm your position in camp. Players will require helmets, shoulder pads, cleats, and mouthguards in order to participate. The age range is 14-18 years old (no exceptions).

The prognosis for the Vancouver Island Raiders winning another Canadian Bowl title in the CJFL just became a whole lot brighter with the signing of veteran QB Jordan Yantz. Yantz considered a number of CIS offers in 2012 before finally deciding that winning another Canadian Bowl was a top priority. Yantz joined the Raiders in 2008 from his home in Saskatchewan and led the Raiders, featuring Andrew Harris, to a Canadian Bowl championship in 2009. He exhibited stellar seasons with the Raiders the last 2 years, only to lose to the Saskatoon Hilltops in the championship game in 2010, and again in the Josten's Cup in 2011.

In 2011 Yantz threw for over 2700 yards and 35 touchdowns, completing a 10-0 season in the BC Football Conference. With the best receiving corps in Junior football, in 2012 Yantz will have an excellent shot at topping the 100 TD career mark.

Spring training camp for Yantz and the Raiders begins today, May 11th.

Nanaimo News Bulletin - Raiders QB returns for one more season

Do you think that coaches can promote their players to the junior team?
Do you think that a guy who was chosen in a football Canada or football Quebec team prior to the camp will almost automatically have a spot?

Can anyone shed some light on why the AUS is always last and couple months later in releasing their schedule? There is only 4 teams so it can't be that difficult.

The word out of London is that Tyler Varga ia apparently heading to Yale University for September 2012.

What is going on in the CFL regarding Canadian CIS QB's, Montreal signed Kyle Graves and Kyle Quinlan ? Is this just another public relations stunt for the CFL by having teams sign CIS QB'S just to build them up to have them try out only to be placed on the practice roster or to cut at the end of training camp?

Dan Brannagan the standout pivot from the 2009 Vanier Cup Queen's Gaels was highly publicized by the Argo's and was supposedly to given a fair chance in the CFL but ended up on the Argo practice roster and was eventually cut the following season at the end of training camp.

Brad Sinopoli the Hec Creighton award winner from Qttawa was drafted as a QB with Calgary and went to training camp but was later switched to another playing position but was given limited or no playing time.

Jamie Bone a star QB at Western in 1978 was drafted by the Hamiltion Tiger-Cats and when he attended training camp wasn't given a play book from the team at training camp and eventually filed a law suit against the Hamilton Tiger Cats and actually won.

So what next? Kyle Quinlan and Kyle Grace sign with a CFL club but this time with the same team the Montreal Alouettes. Both of these young men are good athletes and soild QB's in the CIS but realistically do either of them have a chance in hell of starting or playing QB in the CFL? Remember both of them have signed with the same team.

I firmly believe that Graves or Quinlan do not have a prayer in making or sticking with Montreal other than on the practice roster. Yes history will repeat it self again in 2012 for Kyle Grace and Kyle Quinlan, just ask Dan Brannagan,Brad Sinopoli, and Jamie Bone?

It's time for the CFL to stop playing mind games with Canadian CIS QB's. I wish the VERY BEST for both Kyle Grace and Kyle Quinlan in 2012 where ever they eventually end up playing.

While no one can argue the exceptional athletisism of Shamawd Chambers there is one player who is not getting talked about at and that is DB Dylan Hollohan.By the numbers he posted at the E-camp it could be argued that he is the "best athlete in the draft" Lets's compare. You decide
