Football New Brunswick cuts down to 49 players prior to exhibition series (roster)

Football New Brunswick cut down their Football Canada Cup U18 squad further after a June 1st weekend tryout camp in Saint John at the University of New Brunswick.  The team cut down to 49 players and is planning 2 exhibition games against Team Nova Scotia during the month of June before getting down to the final 40-man roster.

“We are not only proud but also very excited to represent our province in the (Football) Canada Cup in London,” noted Executive Director Olivier Eddie.  “This is our first participation in the tournament (under 18 age group) and there is no doubt that there is a lot of work to do.  That being said, we try to take it one step at a time and improve every day. That’s all we are demanding from our coaches and athletes – and they have responded well.”

“The athletes have been competing very hard in both practices and camps. The level of competition has been excellent and there is no doubt that our athletes have been progressing.”

“Our coaches and support staff have been dedicated to make this team as good as possible. We are very fortunate to have a group of coaches who have a true passion for football.”
