The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 18. Ray completed 24 of 30 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns; he also added five yards on two carries in the Argos’ 31-26 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Ray was instrumental in helping his team punch their playoff ticket as he threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half to take an important lead heading into the third quarter. For his efforts at Mosaic Stadium, Ray earned his first 2012 Player of the Week award.

Anwar Stewart

BC Lions 21 @ Calgary Stampeders 41
Calgary Stampeders defensive lineman Anwar Stewart was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 18. Stewart registered four tackles and a career high four sacks in the Stampeders’ 41-21 win over the BC Lions.
Stewart was a thorn in the side of Lions quarterback Mike Reilly all game at McMahon Stadium as he never allowed BC’s offence to get comfortable. With his impressive defensive effort, Stewart earned his first 2012 Player of the Week award.

Tim Brown

BC Lions 21 @ Calgary Stampeders 41
BC Lions kick returner Tim Brown was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 18. Brown compiled 150 yards on six kick returns and added another 81 yards and a touchdown on five punt returns in the Lions’ 41-21 loss to the Calgary Stampeders.
With 2:35 remaining in the third quarter, Brown returned a Rob Maver punt 56 yards for a touchdown and got his team back in the game. Brown’s impressive numbers were good enough to earn him his second 2012 Player of the Week award.

Andre Durie

Toronto Argonauts 31 @ Saskatchewan Roughriders 26
Toronto Argonauts slotback Andre Durie was named the Canadian Player of the Week for Week 18. The Mississauga, Ontario native registered 40 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions in the Argos’ 31-26 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Durie’s touchdown with 1:20 remaining in the second quarter helped the Argos to a key first half lead that they did not relinquish in their crucial Week 18 win. Durie’s performance earned him his first 2012 Player of the Week award.
