Hamilton running back becomes newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks have announced the commitment of Osayi Iginuan to their football program.

The 6’1, 220 pound running back from Hamilton, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

Iginuan has suited up for St. Thomas More Knights of the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic Athletic Association (HWCAA) and Hamilton Hurricanes of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

For their part, the Golden Hawks feel the Hamilton running back’s speed and athleticism will be the perfect fit not only on the team’s offensive unit, but on special teams.

“Osayi has a great combination of strength, speed and power,” commented Golden Hawks Head Coach Michael Faulds.  “Both at St. Thomas More and with the Hamilton Hurricanes in the summer we have watched closely his ability to run the football and to pass protect.”

“We know we have a great system here for running the football and adding a weapon like Osayi will allow us to constantly improve.  With his size and speed he will also be an absolute force on special teams.”

As for Iginuan, the Golden Hawks provided him with the best chance to succeed at achieving all his gridiron and academic goals.

“I chose Laurier because of their great football program and I honestly felt like Laurier will provide me with a great opportunity for the future,” expressed Iginuan.
