Huskies provide Moose Jaw recruit beneficial opportunity

Moose Jaw linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

For Justin Filteau, the decision extended beyond the game.

Recently, the 5’9, 200 pound linebacker (middle) from Moose Jaw committed to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.Β  Filteau will join the team for the 2014 CWUAA season.

β€œI committed to Huskies is because I am a Saskatchewan grown kid and I have always liked Saskatchewan football,” expressed Filteau.Β  β€œAlso, Β I have already got a great job as a year 2 machinist at Deca Industries and my boss is allowing me to go to school and play well I am employed here.”

β€œThen, family and friends are an important part as well.”

Filteau completed a stint with the Saskatoon Hilltops of the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL). This past season, the Hilltops won the Canadian Bowl.

Previous to the CJFL, the linebacker suited up for A.E. Peacock Tornadoes of the Moose Jaw High School Football League (MJHSFL).
