Local recruit becomes SMU’s first 2016 commitment

Local running back joins AUS team’s 2016 class.

Saint Mary’s Huskies have announced the addition of Debraun Lewis-Mayo to their football program.

The 6’1, 180 pound running back from Halifax, Nova Scotia will join the team for the 2016 AUS season.

“Debraun is a very gifted football player with a bright future ahead of him,” commented Huskies Interim Head Coach AJ Tufford.  “We are pleased that he has decided to make Saint Mary’s his home and become a student athlete with the Huskies.”

Lewis-Mayo recently completed his career with Auburn Drive Eagles of Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).  This past season, the offensive standout amassed 1950 rushing yards and scored 25 touchdowns.  His efforts were recognized as he was selected as the Eagles Offensive MVP.
