Hyacks to participate in exhibition game against Grandview, Texas squad next week

The New Westminster Hyacks of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA) are Texas bound.

On Monday, the Hyacks will travel to Grandview, Texas where the team will play an exhibition game against a team that hails from one of the smallest schools in the state – the Zebras.

The game will be played under Friday Night Lights on August 29th.  While the town has approximately 3300 inhabits, the football stadium can seat up to 1200 people.

This is not the first trip south of the border for the Hyacks football program.  Back in 2011, the team travelled to Citrus Valley, California.

Already, the Hyacks are in the early stages of planning their next gridiron adventure.  In 2017, the team will head down to Florida.

As for the Hyacks game against Zebras, it will showcase three marquee players.  CFC # 3 and recent University of Arizona Wildcats commit, offensive lineman Harper Sherman as well as CFC 100 defensive back Matt Seymour will be the one to watch for on the Hyacks. The Zebras key player will be pivot and recent Baylor Class 2016 commit Zack Smith.
