McGill’s prestige lures CEGEP recruit

CEGEP offensive lineman becomes newest recruit to join RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Philippe Noiseux wants the opportunity to begin his CIS career at home.

Last week, the 6ā€™3, 270 pound offensive lineman from Blainville, Quebec committed to the McGill Redmen. Noiseux will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, he found the best of both academic and football worlds at the Montreal, Quebec campus.

ā€œI choose McGill for a lot of reasons,ā€ explained the Quebec lineman of his decision.Ā  ā€œFirst, I really like the coaches.ā€

ā€œI also really like the sports complex of the Redmen. Ā As well, the academics were the major part in my decision. McGill was the perfect fit for my study and football. The academic prestige of the school was a big part of the decision. I can also stay at home.ā€

Noiseux comes to the Redmen after completing a stint with CEGEP Division 3 team, Ahuntsic Indians.Ā  In 2014, he was named Lineman of the Year.Ā  Additionally, the offensive lineman was selected as an All-Star for two consecutive years (2013, 2014).
