"It's very simple. It's a dream job and a dream opportunity."

Those are the thoughts of Saint Mary's Huskies new head football coach, Perry Marchese. On Friday, the university officially ended a search that started a little over two months ago by naming Marchese as the the leader of the football program.

Saint Mary's has officially announced a new head coach to replace the fired Steve Sumarah. Alumni Perry Marchese will lead the program going forward. The Hamilton, Ontario native was a Quarterback for the Huskies in the mid 90's while completing an MBA. He has coached various levels and at a variety of programs. He leaves his current position with the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) to become head coach of the Huskies. Saint Mary's announced the hiring late Friday afternoon in a press release (ironically usually a time you release bad news).

The star quarterback for the Saint Mary's Huskies (SMU) is uncertain of what he will do next season and the coaching situation at the university is not making it any easier for him.

York University Lions head football coach Warren Craney has also assumed the roleof defensive coordinator for the team, while Harry Laflamme will take over as special teams coordinator effective immediately.

While McMaster’s 2011 Vanier Cup victory remains fresh in the minds of the Maroon faithful, the focus has shifted to 2012 and moving forward toward new challenges. A big event on the Marauder Football calendar is the team’s annual Gala Dinner and Reception presented by RBC, which will be held on Thursday, April 26^th, 2012 at the David Braley Athletic Centre.

The 5th Annual Up-Front Camp has opened its doors to defensive linemen. Already known as the premier offensive line camp in Southern Ontario, Up-Front will now offer the same outstanding coaching to defensive players.
