    In Junior Varsity action, the Mississauga Warriors defeated the Georgetown Crimson Tide in the
    Ontario Varsity Football League. Both teams spread the ball around to a variety of different offensive weapons but the Warriors proved too much for the visiting Tide.

    The Mississauga Warrior Peewee Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) team held off the visiting Cumberland Panthers by a final of 19 to 7 in an afternoon match in Mississauga. Both teams displayed great athleticism and had tremendous size for players of peewee age. Mississauga opened the scoring when #15, QB, Daniel Mariano, took off on a scramble and crossed the Panther goal line. The point after attempt was unsuccessful.

    Sault Ste Marie Sabercats came out on fire against the Mississauga Warriors and managed to hold off a late rally by the Warriors in Ontario Varsity Football League 'Varsity' action Saturday in Mississauga. The Warriors had no answers for the spread attack of the Sabercats who scored early and often posting a 28 to 0 halftime lead.

    In Ontario Minor Football League (OMFL) Atom level action the Brantford Bisons outlasted the home team Mississauga Warriors in a well played affair by both squads. The back and forth affair saw both teams execute well on offense and defense. The Bisons broke the scoreless tie in the 2nd quarter when #83, QB, Jhamal Sewell hooked up with tight end, #86 Quin Kramer for a 25 yard pass and catch for a touchdown. The extra point try was unsuccessful

    On a lovely Saturday morning for football, the Mississauga Warrior Ontario Minor Football League (OMFL) peewee team squared off against the visiting Halton Cowboys at St. Marcellinus Catholic High School. The game started with some immediate drama with an illegal kickoff then 2 plays later the Mississauga Warriors #43 James Jones picked off a Halton pass and returned it 59 yards for a touchdown.

    In a see-saw affair, the Cambridge Lions managed to hold off the London Falcons on the opening night of Ontario Varsity Football League action. In front of a packed house at Jacob Hespeler field, the Lions relied on their running game and an opportunistic defense to hold off the Falcons by a slim 2 point margin. Turnovers and penalties slowed the game down drastically in the 2nd half. Regardless, the fourth quarter saw plenty of drama and pressure packed performances.

    The Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) will open its 2010 spring/summer season with a game in Cambridge tonight. The game features the hometown Cambridge Lions and the visiting, and defending Junior Varsity Champs, London Falcons. CFC will be their to report on the game.
