• Sask 'riders Head coach Greg Marshall to speak at FCCA convention in April

    The newly formed Football Canada Coaches Association (FCCA) is pleased to announce GREG MARSHALL as a speaker at the 2011 FCCA CONVENTION being held April 2nd and 3rd in Burlington, Ontario (Corpus Christi High School). "I am really excited to be a speaker at this great first time event" Greg told Rick Sowieta of Football Canada. "I have seen Greg present before and he will do a fantastic job" said Sowieta, a former CFL teammate.

    Convention costs are $69.95 for FCCA members and 109.95 for non-members (so just become a member to gain access to all of those benefits).

    Greg Marshall

    Marshall, recently named the new head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, has over a decade in coaching experience and a nine-year playing career in the CFL . Prior to his position with the Roughriders, Marshall spent two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Marshall has served as the defensive coordinator for five CFL teams including three seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the 2005 season with the Ottawa Renegades as the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach and five seasons in Edmonton as the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach. Marshall was a highly regarded and feared defensive lineman for the Ottawa Rough Riders, who was named a four-time Eastern All-Star, two-time CFL All-Star and earned the title of the CFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1983. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 1978 NFL Draft and had brief stints with the Eagles and Baltimore Colts prior to heading north to the CFL. His knowledge and reputation in will be a great addition to the wonderful lineup scheduled for the 2011 Convention.

    The convention will take place in Burlington, Ontario (Corpus Christi HS) on April 2 and 3, 2011. It will include speakers from high school & minor, USA football, NFL, CFL, and more. The convention will also include an exhibition and free handouts (1) Strength & Conditioning Manual "Preparing to Win" - for senior high school players - 200 pages & (2) LTAD Manual, Concussion cards, & doping cards.
