• Football Canada announces Junior National Team selection camps across Canada


    Football Canada is proud to announce a series of player identification camps across Canada which will help determine the Canadian Junior National Team roster, competing at the 2012 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Junior World Championship.     Players born in 1993, 1994 or 1995 with a Canadian citizenship and who are Football Canada members through their respective Provincial Football Association are eligible to represent Canada at the 2012 IFAF Junior World Championship.

    Players interested in attending are asked to complete the pre-registration form which can be found at www.footballcanada.com or through their Provincial Football Association. Team Canada hopefuls are required to bring their own shoulder pads, jersey, helmet, mouth guard and proper footwear.

    The selection camp format will include a physical testing portion (e.g. 40 yard dash) as well as on-field portion consisting of position specific drills and one-on-ones.
    Team Canada is looking to improve upon a silver medal finish at the 2009 IFAF Junior World Championship in Canton, Ohio. Canadian 2009 Junior National Team alumni include Bryron Perez-Archambault (Université de Montréal), Jérémi Doyon-Roch (Université de Sherbrooke), Steven Lumbala (University of Calgary), Brandon Bridge, Jake Thomas (Acadia University) and Kirby Fabien (University of Calgary).
