The Winnipeg Rifles have named Doug Zubrecki as their new General Manager. Doug takes over the position following the retirement of Gord Cooke, the clubs previous and only General Manager. Cooke was a founding member of the Rifles and past President. He remains involved with the club in an advisory position.
Previously involved with both the St. Vital Mustangs and Fort Garry Lions community football clubs, Doug most recently served as the GM for Team East who captured the Red River Cup Championship in Brandon Manitoba. Doug brings with him a solid understanding of the local business community and a strong network of contacts with both community based and High School programs. Doug’s strengths include a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for amateur football.
Born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Doug and his wife Vanessa have two children, Sarah and Connor both born in Winnipeg.
