OFC: Varsity Stampeders Roll Over Panthers

With the second week of the OFC kicking off, the Varsity Burlington Stampeders got there first win in honourable fashion. After losing a thriller last week against a stellar opponent, it seemed as if they were out to prove something.

Coming into the season, the Stamps were one of the favorites to be at the top, and starting off 0-2 is not what anyone in the organization had in mind. Having so much talent including 5 players on Team Ontario, they knew what had to be done and did it, winning in a rout of the Hamilton Panthers by a score of 54-7.

Many players contributed to the team from the first whistle to the last, but the player of the game went out to Kicker Gabriel Ferraro, as he managed 22 of the 54 points scored. Head Coach Sean Williamson indicated that “Gabriel was a force to be reckoned with; going 6/6 in field goal attempts, and had 4 converts.” This was one of the key factors of the Burlington Stampeders win, but numerous players contributed.

In all, they were way too much for the Hamilton Panthers, and it showed on the scoreboard. The Varsity Stampeders will play the Chatam-Kent Couagars June 10[SUP]th[/SUP] at 5 pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
