Tyler Greer is still new to the game as he only started last year with the peewee Orleans Bengals of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA), where he received two awards of recognition.

In 2014, the defensive tackle played junior varsity with the Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and was named Rookie of the Year.

Moreover, this year Greer also played for the St. Peter’s Knights of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA), and the bantam Bengals.

During the off-season, the Knights standout trains in karate and has received his first-degree black belt. He also trains with some of his football coaches to help him improve his game.

“My goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to get better and to get exposure,” said Greer, who also aspires to make the CFC 100 list during his graduation year.

“It would be an honour and I would be very proud of this accomplishment,” added Greer.

For Greer, the game is more than just playing a sport and staying in shape.

“I can honestly say I love playing football as it has allowed me to make many friendships and heightened my self-esteem,” explained the defensive tackle.
