OVFL: ‘New Lions, New Savannah’: Cambridge Lions JV season preview


Like the Varsity team, the Jr. Varsity Lions are very excited about the coming of their new Turf home field which is projected to be ready in August. As with Varsity, the Jr. Lions will be calling Preston High School home in the mean time, while the turf is being installed at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.

Head Coach Gary Skalos has crafted quite the team with a mix of returning Jr. Varsity players from the 2011 season, as well as the members of the Bantam 2011 OV Champion ship team, and some new players from the Cambridge High School system. Coach Skalos is looking to take his experience as the Offensive Coordinator for the 2011 Adams Finalist team and the skill of the his players to turn in a great 2012 season. The coaching staff is very excited about the diversity of experience within the team.

An experienced coaching staff and talented team have the Jr. Varsity Lions’ organization feeling extremely optimistic about the 2012 season. With a new turf field on the way there is a lot to be excited about with the Lions organization. One thing is for sure, the team is ready for their season to open in Guelph on May 26[SUP]th[/SUP].
