Round 1 of the playoffs is in the books for both the Junior Varsity Divisions of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).
In the OVFL, the Kingston Grenadiers, Brampton Bulldogs, York Simcoe Bucs and London Jr Mustangs have all advanced to the next round of the playoffs after earning victories this past weekend.
Meanwhile, the Peterborough Wolverines and Huronia Stallions won Mike Ramsay Conference Semi-Final while the Hamilton Hurricanes were victorious in the Doug Dittmer tilt.
Here are results for Round 1 OVFL and OVC Junior Varsity Division playoffs.

ONTARIO VARSITY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (OVFL):
KINGSTON GRENADIERS 24, SCARBOROUGH THUNDER 23:
At Mary Ward High School, the Kingston Grenadiers advance to the next round of the playoffs after squeezing by Scarborough Thunder 24-23.
For the Thunder, Connor Smith completed 22 passes in 40 attempts for 378 passing yards.Ā Marcus Carr tallied two majors while Kavantye Bailey had a 46 yard touchdown reception.Ā Shedler Fervius added three PATās.
Emmanuel Beals caught an interception as well as registered four solo and eight assisted tackles to lead the Thunder defense.Ā Jeremiah Marriott recorded two solo sacks as well as six solo and five assisted tackles.Ā Both Rahiem Nesbeth and Jaeden Washington racked up three solo and eight assisted tackles in the loss.
BRAMPTON BULLDOGS 39, NIAGARA SPEARS 31:
At Chingcousy Park, Jevantie Stanley scored three touchdowns and rushed for 186 yards on 17 carries as the Brampton Bulldogs defeated the Niagara Spears 39-31.
Stanley also completed seven passes in 14 attempts for 232 yards and three passing touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
Quincy Belanger, Malcolm Miller and Juwan Jesquith each scored a touchdown in the win.Ā Jesquith completed three conversion attempts.
On defense, John Vlachos registered seven solo and five assisted tackles for the Bulldogs.
YORK SIMCOE BUCS 24, METRO TORONTO WILDCATS 16:
At St. Maximillian Kolbe High School, Michael Strumo tallied two majors and rushed for 107 yards on 21 carries as the York Simcoe Bucs earned a 24-16 win over the Metro Toronto Wildcats.
Tristan Kuchar scored a touchdown and rushed for 103 yards on 26 carries.Ā Michael Bazzo added a 14 yard field goal and three PATās for the Bucs.
Jericho Daher recorded a solo sack as well as registering two solo and seven assisted tackles to lead the Bucs defense.
LONDON JR MUSTANGS 56, MISSISSAUGA WARRIORS 16:
At TD Waterhouse Stadium, Derek Aubin scored two touchdowns and rushed for 112 yards on eight carries as the London Jr Mustangs cruised to a 56-16 victory over the Mississauga Warriors.
Juquon Uylett tallied a major and rushed for 203 yards on 20 carries.Ā Additionally, Brentyne AndersonBrown scored a touchdown. Thomas Hawkins was perfect on all eight conversion attempts for the Mustangs.
Jordan Hayes caught two interceptions and had three assisted tackles.Ā Nicholas Sarre registered three solo and eight assisted tackles in the win.
As for the Warriors, Sean Paquette added two PATās.Ā On defense, Julien Taylor-Patrick caught an interception and as well as racked up one assisted and five solo tackles. Khalil Wilson added three solo and five assisted tackle in the loss.
ONTARIO FOOTBALL CONFERENCE (OFC):
CLARINGTON KNIGHTS DEFEAT HURONIA STALLIONS:
The Huronia Stallions Junior Varsity team lost a hard fought playoff decision to the Clarington Knights.Ā The Stallions had a strong game plan and executed early with quarterback Josh Cook connecting with Andrew Gill for the gameās opening score.Ā The drive was highlighted by a spectacular 43 yard reception by Jacob Tanguay.Ā However, Clarington managed to hold the Stallions scoreless for the rest of the game.Ā The Stallions trailed 11-7 at halftime and 18-7 early in the fourth quarter before ultimately succumbing 37-7.Ā Ā Kody Pain and Steven Noble were the top defensive players for the Stallions with both players involved in several key tackles.Ā The JVās succeeded in making the playoffs for an amazing seventh straight year and demonstrated continual improvement throughout the season.Ā The coaches are very excited about the number of returning players and the future contributions of graduates to the Varsity program.
