JUNIOR GAME PREVIEWS:

OFC WEEK 6:

Hamilton Hurricanes @ AKO Fratmen
Saturday @7:00

Hamilton and Windsor have met once before this season as the Fratmen kicked off their 2014 season on the road against the Canes. The Fratmen may have been the first on the board but they didn’t hold onto their lead for long. The game was tied up at the end of one and then the Hurricanes took control in order to come out with a 22-6 win. It’s been four weeks, and their meeting once again on the Gridiron… but this time it’s at Windsor Stadium.

The Hamilton Hurricanes are coming off of a bye week as they head to Windsor to take on the Fratmen. This will be the second meeting this regular season as AKO kicked off their season in Hamilton. In their last meeting this season the Fratmen were unable to score a touchdown, and went home with a 22-6 loss. Since their meeting with Hamilton they have been on a strong winning streak and now hold aΒ  3-1 record and are looking more like the 2013 championship team every game. As for Hamilton they had a strong start to the season before Ottawa came to town and managed to top them 9-8; The Hurricanes now sit at 3-1 as well.

The Last game for the Fratmen was last Sunday when they came home with a 20-17 win over the GTA Grizzlies. AKO’s Dillon Grondin kicked a 52-yard field goal for the win, as the fourth was coming to an end to give them the lead and win. AKO struggled with penalties throughout the entire game as they gave up over 200 yards… where as the Grizzlies just 85.

As for the Hurricanes, their last game was against the Ottawa Sooners who handed them their first loss of the season. Kicker Danny Cerino was the lone Hurricane to put points on the board against the Sooners as he was successful on two of three field goals.

The game will be broadcasted live by Windsor-Essex TV onΒ www.we-tv.ca. Pregame show will start at 6:30 with the game following at 7pm.

London Beefeaters @ Twin City Predators
Saturday @ 7:30

The London Beefeaters and Twin City Predators meet for the second time this season, but this time it’s London that’s hitting the highway. This will be the second straight game against each other as they met just last weekend in London. The Beefeaters have yet to win on the road as they lost their opening game in Ottawa and then a couple weeks later fell short in Windsor. As for the Predators, they have yet to win a game since week one and sit at 1-3. Last weekend when the two teams met London came out with a 24-12 win.

Ottawa Sooners @ GTA Grizzlies
Sunday @ 1pm

The GTA Grizzlies are sitting at the bottom of the OFC standings with an 0-4 record and coming off of a loss to the AKO Fratmen. Last Sunday they put up a good fight against the Frat, but a late field goal would give the win to Windsor.Β  As for the Sooners, they’re in the race for first with both Windsor and Hamilton. The Sooners are coming off a win over Burlington. The Sooners took the lead early on in the game and held onto it for the duration, and came out with a 24-16 final. The Grizzlies are still working towards their first win of the season, and if they can play like they did last weekend it shouldn’t be long before they find their way into the win column.

BCFC WEEK 9 PREVIEW:

The Vancouver Island Raiders (3-4), coming off of a 19-7 loss to the Okanagan Sun last weekend, will try to turn their fortunes around when they battle their old foe, the Langley Rams (5-2)Β on Saturday.

The Raiders, who recorded 372 yards last game, will look to Liam O’Brien who finished the game with 27-for-38 passing for 307 yards and also rushed for 61 yards, and Marshall Cook (10 catches for 131 yards) and Alex Kutra (five catches for 104 yards) as offensive leaders to try and get them back into the win column.

As for the Rams, running backs Nathan Lund and Jordan Traversy were the leaders for their team in rushing last week against the Huskers. Lund recorded four carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while Traversy carried the ball six times for 52 yards and one score.
