RECAP: Brogaard catapults Falcons past Saints in OFSAA Bowl [stats]

Dustin Brogaard scored two consecutive touchdowns in the fourth quarter to lift the Frontenac Falcons to a 24-20 victory over the Richview Saints yesterday at the OFSAA Bowl Festival Series at McMasterā€™s Ron Joyce Stadium.

Braden North opened the scoring as he added a 38 yard field goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Saints responded in the next quarter as Donald Shaw dashed into the end zone for a three yard touchdown to lead 7-3.

However, the Falcons regained the lead as Brogaard snuck into the end zone for a one yard major.

Before the half, Shaw scored his second touchdown of the game as he sprinted downfield for a 32 yard score.

At halftime, the Saints enjoyed a 14-10 lead.

In the third quarter, Sean Kelly connected with Jamoy Thompson for a 45 yard major to extend the Saints lead 20-10.

Then in the final frame, Brogaard went on a tear.Ā  First, he snuck into the end zone for a one yard touchdown to pull the Falcons within three points of the Saints.Ā  Soon after, Brogaard would clinch the victory for the Falcons with his third major of the game as he sprinted 19 yards straight into the end zone.

For the Falcons, Brogaard led the way with three touchdowns and rushed for 128 yards on 20 carries.Ā  Carter Matheson racked up 114 yards on six receptions. Pivot Rob Magee completed nine passes in 14 attempts and a passing touchdown.Ā  On defence, Alec Ferland led the way with five tackles.

As for the Saints, Shaw was a beast on offense as he tallied two majors and amassed 312 passing yards on 32 carries.Ā  Thompson scored a touchdown and had 102 yards on 102 yards on three receptions. Kelly completed seven passes in 15 attempts and had a passing touchdown. Both Jordan Mealand and Kevin Amor each registered three tackles to lead the defence.
