RECAP: Cheetahs still untouchable, notable performances from CFC 100 standouts

Still invincible, the Vanier Cheetahs kept their unbeaten record intact as the team defeated College Notre-Dame de Foy 37-12 this past weekend in CEGEP Division 1 Week 6 action.

Jamie Harry scored a touchdown and racked up 138 yards on six receptions.  Khalil Kerr also tallied a major while Marc-Antoine Varin caught an interception and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown score.

Pivot Dimitri Sinodinos completed 28 passes in 36 attempts for 320 yards, one rushing major and a passing touchdown. Brandon Fombuena was successful on four conversion attempts in the win.

Kean Harelimana led the Cheetahs defense with nine tackles.  Jizreel Botat, also caught an interception.

Louis Philippe St.Amant

As for CNDF, Patrick Serre tallied the lone major.  CFC 100 Louis-Philippe St.Amant caught an interception and registered 6.5 tackles.  Jean-Philippe Hudon also added 6.5 tackles.

CHAMPLAIN-LENNOXVILLE COUGARS 38, VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 28:

At CEPSUM, CFC 100 Cedric Joseph scored tallied two majors and rushed for 122 yards on 22 carries as the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars defeated Vieux-Montreal Spartiates 38-28.

Bashir Janafaoui had an 82 yard touchdown reception for the Cougars.  Dominic Levesque added three PAT’s.

CFC 100 Kevin McGee and Samuel Brodrique each caught an interception while CFC 100 Cedric Lussier-Roy registered eight tackles to lead the defense.  CFC 100 Frederik Robitaille also added five tackles in the win.

CFC 100 Mike Brian Lusikila scored a touchdown and rushed for 123 yards on 28 carries for the Spartiates.  CFC 100 Louis-Mathieu Normandin also tallied a major and had 87 yards on 10 receptions.  Dominic Perron also scored a touchdown while Allan Lambert caught an interception and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown score.

Frederic Paquette-Perrault completed 15 passes in 27 attempts for 145 yards and two passing touchdowns.  Luis Amaruso was successful on two conversion attempts in the loss.

CFC 100 Mathieu Betts led the Spartiates defense with 5.5 tackles.

LEVIS-LAUZON FAUCONS 47, EDOUARD MONPETIT LYNX 17:

At Edouard-Montpetit, Nicolas Boissoneault scored three touchdowns as the visiting Levis-Lauzon Faucons coasted to a 47-17 victory over Edouard-Montpetit Lynx.

Olivier Fillion tallied two majors and rushed for 134 yards on 14 carries for the Faucons.  Jonathan Breton-Robert scored a touchdown and racked up 156 yards on six receptions.  Louis-Charles Moisan was successful on six conversion attempts.

Pivot Alexandre Gagnon had 12 completions in 26 attempts for 239 yards and a passing touchdown.

Olivier Lavoie led the defense as he caught an interception and amassed 10 tackles for the Faucons.  Pier-Luc Fortin and Dave Drouin each caught an interception.  Raphael Faucher added 8.5 tackles in the win.

As for the Lynx, Jean-Guy Rempel tallied a major and rushed for 153 yards on 21 carries.  Rida Malki also rushed into the end zone and had 145 yards on 15 carries. Tomas Concilio added two PAT’s.

On defense, Mardochee Moba caught two interceptions while Julien Deschenes caught an interception.  Olivier Pilotto recorded a sack for the Lynx.  Philippe Angers registered 5.5 tackles and Albert Tshitenge added five tackles.

FX GARNEAU ELANS 21, MONTMORENCY NOMADES 18:

At FX Garneau, Olivier Forgues scored a touchdown and racked up 63 yards on two carries as the FX Garneau Elans got by the Montmorency Nomades 21-18.

Alexandre Morgan-Zaor tallied a major while Vincent Houle caught an interception and converted it into a touchdown score for the Elans.  William Pettersen added three PAT’s.

Pivot Guillaume Dumas completed eight passes in 17 attempts for 111 yards and two passing touchdowns.

CFC 100 Marc Antoine Ouellet recorded three sacks in the win.  Victor Lecomte, Philippe Ouellet and Benjamin Desmeules-Otis each added a sack while Nicolas Viens caught an interception.

Tristan Fiske-Casault scored two touchdowns for the Nomades.  Bruno Labelle amassed 107 yards on seven rec eptions.

Eric Parr completed nine passes in 14 attempts for 104 yards and one passing touchdown. Zachary Cloutier completed 10 passes for 19 attempts and 107 passing yards in the loss.

Charles Presseault recorded a sack while Gregory-Joseph Jean and Xavier Prevost each registered six tackles to lead the Nomades defense.
