The Sudbury Spartans are pleased to announce that training camp begins this Thursday at 9:30pm ā at James Jerome Turf Field.
Opening Training Camp Dates are as follows:
Thursday April 25th 9:30-11pm
Friday April 26th 9-11pm
Sunday April 28th 2-4pm
New players are welcome but must contact Spartan Team President Gord Goddard at (705) 507-1289 to register.
Walter Wilson, the Spartans new Head Coach has officially announced his coaching staff.
NFC Hall of Famer Junior Labrosse is the Defensive Coordinator. Alongside him is another Spartan legend and NFC Hall Famer, new linebacker coach Sam Cuomo.
JC Nantel the driving force behind the Spartans return to the gridiron in 2011 is moving from the offensive side of the ball ā to the defensive side. He will be coaching the defensive line alongside new rookie coach Dylan Martin who is hanging up the pads to heal some injuries
The offensive side of the ball will be run by Gord Goddard and Head Coach Walter Wilson.
The team is excited to take to the field this week.Ā The recent wet weather mixed with warmer periods has melted the snow off the turf and user groups are getting the green light to begin practicing at the James Jerome Turf field.
