Stallions release All-Star nominees & prepare for playoff tilts

The Huronia Stallions Varsity Football team have released their nominees for the Ontario Football Conference All-Star team.

The nominees include: Quarterback Adam Zussino, Tailback John Shields, Wide Receivers Nick Stadnyk and Jesse Alves, Offensive Linemen Matteo Burtucci, Lorand Sytori and Parker Robson, Defensive Linemen Mac Holliday, Defensive Backs Brandon Johnston, Max Mallo and Caleb Nunes and Kick Returner Jayden Kelly.

The Varsity Stallions finished the season with a 6-2 record which was good for second in the OFC’s Northern Conference.  They will host the 4-3-1 Sudbury Gladiators who they defeated 45-1 during the regular season in the Conference Semi-finals.  The game is this Saturday at 6:30 PM at the Barrie Sports Complex in Midhurst.

The Stallions Junior Varsity and Bantam teams will also compete in OFC Conference semi-final playoff games this weekend.  The Stallions Junior Varsity squad finished the season with a 5-3 record and will play the Clarington Knights in Bowmanville this Friday at 8 PM.  The Bantam Stallions finished the regular season with a 6-2 record and will host the Oakville Titans this Saturday at 2 PM in the opening act of a double header with the Varsity team at the Barrie Sports Complex in Midhurst.
