UBC “gives best opportunity to win” says local recruit (VIDEO)

Kelowna linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class.

Zack Vint has chosen to go to a contender.

Recently, the 5’11 3/4, 215 pound linebacker from Kelowna signed with Vanier Cup Champions, University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds.  Vint will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

“The main reason why I chose UBC was because I wanted to win a championship,” explained the defensive standout.  “I never got the opportunity to win one in highs chool and I felt UBC would give me the best opportunity to win.”

“Along with the great academics that UBC has to offer and how close it would be to home, UBC was overall the perfect fit.”

This past fall with the Kelowna Owls of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA), Vint recorded seven sacks, had three forced fumbles and registered over 35 tackles in five games at the defensive end position.  He was recognized by being selected as a provincial all-star.
