About Football Quebec:
Founded in 1882, under the name Quebec Rugby Football Union, Football Quebec is the body that governs the development of amateur football in the province. This mandate is given by the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports (MELS) and by Canadian Amateur Football.  The federation, which had some 8,000 members in 1992, now numbers nearly 35,000 spread across the three major football practice settings:  contact, non-contact and Student Flag Football. Among the main mandates of Football Quebec are training coaches and officials, safety regulations and the development of the Program of Excellence.
