CFC100 Class 2023 DE Ishmael Findlayter made it official with Virginia Tech on NCAA National Signing Day.

The Toronto, ON native is ranked 4th on the CFC100 Class of 2023, and spent his entire high school career playing at Clarkson Football North in Mississauga. While many Canadians head south to get a taste of American talent, Findlayter decided to stay in Canada where he played a full American schedule while attending Clarkson Football North, and was able to attract interest from of NCAA programs with his stellar play on the field.
The 6’4″, 235lbs defensive end had six offers including Vanderbilt, Arizona State and Ohio, but it was Virginia Tech in the end who convinced the speedy pass rusher to sign on the dotted line. Findlayter is the first Canadian prospect to join the Hokies on National Signing Day since WR Joshua Stanford back in 2012.
