Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): RB Doreh ready for the competition

Osman Doreh has been playing football for two years now.

“My football experience has went quite well,” said Osman. “The only thing I really found hard was the position switch from linebacker to running back.”

The running back has played in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) with the North Gloucester Giants, and is currently with the Cumberland Panthers in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

With those two seasons under his belt, he is ready to give his all on the gridiron this upcoming season.

“My goal for the CFCFPC is to not only get my name out there for CIS schools, but also to play against the best competition in Ontario,” explained the Panther.

During the offseason, Osman does a lot to help improve his athletic ability, like work out at Human 2.0 to work on his mobility, strength and flexibility.

He usually lifts and does speed conditioning training about 4 to 5 days a week, and spends one day just doing stretching and light cardio.

“The people at Human 2.0 really helped out with all of this and it improved my strength, flexibility and speed by a whole lot,” added Osman, “also I make sure to get my skill training in catching, footwork and running routes.”

On the field, his idol is Adrian Peterson because of the pure power, speed and work ethic that he has.

Osman says Peterson has a straight power type running that he tries to emulate his game around, as he is also not afraid to make people miss in the open field if he has to.

“His work ethic is unbelievable, to have that knee injury and be able to bounce back and have the amazing season he did right after that,” continued the running back.

Moreover, he loves to play football because of the team aspect of the game.

“The game of football to me is like a well oiled machine, it can not function without all parts working in perfect harmony,” commented Osman, who describes football has his “poetry in motion.”

“What I mean by that is that everyone does their job to help the other and we all work towards the same goal, my O-line blocks for me and I score touchdowns and gain yards for them, kind of like an orchestra.”
