Calgary Midget: CAMFA – WEEK 5 recap

FALCONS (7) VS COLTS (29)

Falcons: Another tough night for the Falcons who were shut down completely all game long.

Falcons: Noah Muruve was able to muster together 1 Rushing TD on the final Falcons drive of the game
Falcons: Defensively Kurtis Paley was a bright spot racking up several tackles, 1 Blocked Punt and Forced 1 Fumble
Falcons: Jake Fuss recovered 1 Fumble

Colts: Austen Hartley continued his terrific season by scoring 2 Receiving TDs
Colts: Dallas Boath scored 1 jaw dropping Receiving TD after he made a fantastic catch at the 45 and proceeded to outrun 3 Falcon defenders
Colts: Ryan Karl threw for 3 TD Passes
Colts: Defensively the Colts were lead by Keondre Branch who racked up 2 Sacks and 1 Forced Fumble
Colts: Zack Warnock played a solid game and had 1 INT
Colts: With 30 sec remaining, Cole Van Esch went down hard with a knee injury after his punt was blocked.

TOPPERS (45) VS BRONCOS (0)

Hilltoppers: Colby Brewster had another great game throwing for 3 TDs, 2 of which were over 50 yards, and Rushing for 1 TD within one half of play
Hilltoppers: Nathaniel Cross had his best game as a midget player with 2 Receiving TDs
Hilltoppers: Tyler Chow had a nice game and scored 1 Rushing TD
Hilltoppers: Back up QB Matt Fortini played well in the second half accumulating 1 Passing and 1 Rushing TD
Hilltoppers: Gabe Charrois scored 1 Receivng TD late in the game
Hilltoppers: Defensively Tristan Terry was a terror on the line consistently generating pressure in the backfield

Broncos: In a tough match up the Broncos were overwhelmed and appeared to lack the competitive nature required to hang with one of the top teams in CAMFA
Broncos: Wyatt Paton continued his solid play by running hard all game

RAIDERS (0) VS MAVS (41)

Raiders: With only about 20 players the Raiders played hard but were just no match for the top seeded team in CAMFA
Raiders: The Raiders ran several trick plays with little success
Raiders: Josh Duazo was the greatest source of offensive production as he continued to find space and turn out yards

Mavericks: Boston Rowe played another great game rushing for 3 TDs before sitting out the second half
Mavericks: Chuby Obeta ran well scoring 2 Rushing TDs
Mavericks: Colton Hunchak took over at QB in the second half where he threw 1 TD. His performance could have been much more impressive but had 3 long Rushing TDs called back on penalties.
Mavericks: Defensively Aaron Statz was a beast with 2 INTs
Mavericks: Nick Statz and Alex Blasetti each chipped in with 1 INT

BULLDOGS (10) VS WILDCATS (6)

Bulldogs: Brady Hornung stole the show with a 50+ yard Receiving TD in the 3rd that ended up being the difference in a tightly played game
Bulldogs: Rob Barnett had 1 INT which he returned for a big gain
Bulldogs: Liam McCorquodale played well with 1 TD Pass however was let down on several occasions by drops
Bulldogs: Scott Norlin had 1 Forced Fumble

Wildcats: The defense played well lead by Misha Drury and Macah Teitz
Wildcats: The Cats were happy to welcome Eric Roberts back for his first game of the season coming back from an ACL injury suffered at last years U18 tournament. Eric played well racking up several big hit
Wildcats: Nate Tiemstra kicked well with 2 Field Goals
Wildcats: The offense got some good production from RB Henry Suh however appeared to have difficulty getting things going

LIONS (6) VS STAMPS (24)

Lions: The Leos kept things close for 3 quarters before things unraveled quickly
Lions: James Berglund had a good game scoring 1 Receiving TD
Lions: The defense was excellent consistently generating pressure with Jeff Haskle, Josh Hadley and Dale Cummings picking up 1 Sack

Stamps: Justin Keys had a huge game scoring 1 Rushing TD and 1 Passing TD off a screen. Keys had multiple receptions for big yardage consistently torching the the Lions secondary
Stamps: John Podrasky chipped in with 1 Receiving TD
Stamps: Trea Hande lead the defense with 2 Sacks and played well on the O Line as well.

COWBOYS (22) VS FIRE (0)

Cowboys: In what was a dominating performance, Keanno Bentor played some offense and scored 1 Receiving TD and also adding a kickoff return for a TD to open up the second half.
Cowboys: David Ddigianvittorio was perfect in kicking 2 Field Goals
Cowboys: The Cowboys defense shined all day and were lead by Carlo Gallotta who brought pressure all game accumulating 2 sacks.
Cowboys: Ryan Volpi had a great game in the secondary with 2 Knockdowns
Cowboys: Reyd Kessler had his best game of the season with close to 10 tackles, many of which were made in the backfield.

Fire:The Fire Defense played a tough game in the rain in Red Deer, only allowing one TD for the Cowboys Offnese
Fire: The Offense for the Fire continues to struggle against the top teams in the league and were unable to finish drives.
