CEGEP Division 1 MVP and all-star to play for OUA team (VIDEO)

Vincent Alarie-Tardif will play for the Ottawa Gee-Gees in 2013.

The 5’11, 210 pound offensive gun from Chibougamau, Quebec recently signed with the Gee-Gees because of the atmosphere of the campus as well as the strength of the football program.

“I chose the Gee-Gees because they have a nice team spirit,” said Vincent of his decision.  “I love the players and the head coach (Jamie Barresi) is very intelligent as he’s coached for NCAA’s Penn State Wake Forest and in the CFL with Hamilton and for the Edmonton Eskimos last year.”

“I love the campus, and the academic supervision.”

Moreover, there is a special reason he was sold on attending the Ottawa campus.

“My father studied at the University of Ottawa and my friend Theo Ojeaha (recent Gee-Gees football commit)  is going to Ottawa too, so it’s the place to be,” added Vincent.

Commits Tardif-Alaire

The Quebec running back recently completed an exceptional career with CEGEP’s Champlain Cougars.  In 2012, Vincent amassed 1150 rushing yards on 194 carries and eight touchdowns.  Additionally, he registered 151 receiving yards on 16 catches and three touchdowns with the team.  With the Quebec standout’s leadership on and off the field, the Cougars were tops of their division with a regular season record of 9-1 and made an appearance at the Bol D’Or Championship game against the eventual winners, the Vanier Cheetahs.

For his exceptional play on the field this past season, the league recognized Vincent as he was named CEGEP Division 1 MVP and selected to the offensive all-star team at the running back position.  Previous to the Cougars, the Quebec offensive star played for his high school team, the Dominique Racine Mustangs.
