NOVA SCOTIA

Lockview Dragons (5-1) vs. CP Allen Cheetahs (5-1)
Sun 31-Oct-10 1:00 PM @ Lockview

After Cobequid lost, and Lockview defeated Dartmouth, there is now a two way tie on top of the ‘scotia’ division, which features a head to head battle between those two teams, lockview and CP Allen. The Dragons continue to get strong play from QB Kenzie MacNeil. CP Allen counters with running back Jordan Koch.

NEW BRUNSWICK

Oromocto Blues (5-2) @ Saint John Greyhounds (6-1)

New Brunswick Quarter-finals
Saturday 1:00pm UNBSJ

The SouthWestern Conference opens up with a great semi-final match up between the Oromocto Blues and Saint John Greyhounds. The blues are looking to veterans Joel O’Toole, Jessie Gauvreau, Warren Hickey and Matt Fagan to lead the way. The Greyhounds counter with defenders Tyler Vrolyk and Nick Richardson. These teams battled in a week 6 match up that saw Saint John prevail 7 to 0.

QUEBEC

Externat St-Jean-Eudes Condors (5-4) vs Γ‰. sec. de l’AmitiΓ© Aigles (5-4)
Juvenile AAA Division 1 Quarter Finals
Friday 7:00pm @ Γ‰. sec. de l’AmitiΓ©

These two teams finished 4th and 5th in Juvenile AAA division 1 action this year with identical 5 and 4 records. They played in week 3 when the Γ‰. sec. de l’AmitiΓ© prevailed 27 to 25. Should be a great one.

ONTARIO

Orchard Park Patriots (5-2) vs. Westdale Warriors (5-2)
Hamilton Public – Semi-finals
Friday at Westdale – 3:00 p.m.

Third place finishers Orchard Park visit second place Westdale on friday. This is a rematch of a week 2 game that saw Westdale prevail on the road by a score of 7 to 0. Orchard Park made the jump from division 2 (champs last year) to division 1 this year as did Westdale.

Don Bosco (4-1) @ Chaminade College School CFC # 13 (5-0)

Tier I North Region Final
Thursday 2:00 pm – Centennial Stadium

This is a rematch from early in the season when Chaminade prevailed to the delight of their homecoming crowd. This time it will be at a neutral site but the artificial turf may hilite the athleticism of Tevaun Smith and Marcus Grandison for Chaminade. Don Bosco’s coach Rob Ford just won the MAYOR’S job in Toronto. Maybe some of that election fever will spread through his team.

Ursuline Lancers vs. Wallaceburg Tartans
Kent Final
Saturday 1:00pm

The Wallaceburg Tartans and Ursuline Lancers will meet for the third time this season in the Kent senior football final. Wallacebury out the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks 28-0 and the Lancers upset the McGregor Panthers 15-12 in last Saturday’s semifinals. The Tartans will be trying to complete their unfinished business from 2009 when they lost in the championship game to the Blenheim Bobcats, 11-10. The Lancers will be out to avenge a huge upset when their two-year title reign and undefeated season went down the tubes when the fourth-place Tartans pulled off a 21-7 stunner in the semifinal. The Tartans are 2-0 in the season series. They beat the Lancers 1-0 on Sept. 17 and 17-14 on Oct. 12. The game will be a rematch of last season’s Kent junior final won by the Lancers at WDSS.

MANITOBA

Sisler AAA Spartans (2-4-1) vs. Churchill Bulldogs (4-3)
Quarter-Finals
Friday 5:15

Rematch of week 6 where Sisler upset Churchill by a score of 20 to 0. David Rhodes and the Bulldog offense look to rebound from that poor performance on October 14. Interceptions by Spartans’ Zack Monkman, Bradley Squires, and Brett Harrison were huge. Harrison also had 2 touchdowns in that game on the ground and Austin Campbell returned a punt return to the house. Playoffs, here we go.

SASKATCHEWAN

LeBoldus Golden Suns (4-1-2) vs. Sheldon-Williams Spartans (4-2-1)

Quarter Final RIFL
Wednesday 7:30 PM Mosaic Stadium

Familiarity and tight competition. These teams battled to a 16 to 16 draw last week in their final regular season game. Who will make the best adjustments? Sheldon was the only team to defeat the first place Riffel Royals. In that game a fourth quarter flurry was the difference, led by QB Nathan Schulte (Team Saskatchewan). The Golden Suns counter with QB Noah Picton. Should be a great one.

ALBERTA

AB #5 Holy Trinity Academy Knights at AB #4 Medicine Hat Mohawks
Tier II Friday, October 29, 7:00 p.m.

Methanex Bowl (Medicine Hat)

The Rangeland Conference Championship game is also the beginning of the hardest road to Provincials in all of Alberta. With so many solid Tier II teams that have the potential to advance to the southern half of the ASAA Provincials Draw it’s a meatgrinder each week from now on for all the teams involved. Both HTA and Hat High are very strong teams but the 2010 adventure ends this Friday for one of them. That will be a shame for the loser but it’s no bed of roses for the winner as they then advance to play #9 Catholic Central the following week for the right to even go to Provincials as the Region 1 rep. where top ranked teams await them there. The Mohawks won the regular season encounter between these two teams 21-13 on September 30th. Should be fun under the lights in Medicine Hat this Friday.! (FB Alberta)

BRITISH COLUMBIA

St. Thomas More Knights (2-1, 5-2) @ WJ Mouat CFC # 6 (3-0, 7-0)
Friday 7:30 pm

St. Thomas More is coming off a huge victory over the Centennial Centaurs. QB Mike Carney was a star in that game, passing for 262 yards and rushing for 157 (sounds like Brad Sinopoli). Will they continue to use the ‘no huddle’ attack effectively against the Hawks? Not to be outdone, Hawks QB Cam Bedore continues his MVP like season, coming off a 4 TD performace (3 rushing, 1 passing). Will the depth and fire power of Mouat be the key?
