“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to keep working with Football New Brunswick and the under-18 program,” says Richard.Ā Ā “I am excited to help improve football in the province of New Brunswick.”

“This program is a tremendous tool for young athletes; we want to involve as many athletes as possible and provide them with the best coaching possible.ā€

Jeremie Lebans, starting quarterback for Team New Brunswick at the 2012 Football Canada Cup adds that Richard is the perfect choice as he has all the necessary characteristics needed to succeed in this position.

“Heā€™s willing to go the extra mile to make you a better player and heā€™s very good at pointing out ways for you to improve,” says Lebans.Ā Ā “Heā€™s the kind of coach who spends a lot of time planning, and that translates very well in giving us a chance to win in every game we play.ā€

The 2013 Football Canada Cup National Championship will take place from July 15th to July 21st in Moncton, New Brunswick. It marks the first time that the tournament will be hosted in New Brunswick. All games, the skills competition and both the opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Rocky Stone field, in Moncton.

ā€œItā€™s very exciting to host the Football Canada Cup in our province,” comments Eddie. “Itā€™s an opportunity for us to show that we have good football programs in New Brunswick.”

“I think that the Moncton community will attend the week-long event with great numbers, and show to everyone that the football culture here is very strong.ā€

Football New Brunswick’s under-18 program is a high performance development program. It begins with identification camps during the winter that will continue right up until the Football Canada Cup National Championship in July. In 2012, over 120 athletes participated in the program.

Players have benefitted from the experience of playing under the provincial program.

ā€œThe under-18 program experience is absolutely amazing,” explained Lebans. “It gives us a chance to play football in the summer and it gives us an extra edge for when we come back for our fall high school season.ā€
