LeBoldus dominates in season opener

Week one of the Regina High School Athletics Association (RHSAA) 4A football season began with total domination on Thursday, September 8. Greenall took on LeBoldus at Mosaic Stadium in a game that was all LebBoldus. LeBoldus game out fast and strong, cementing their dominance early in the game. With a 42-0 lead after two quarters the victory was almost guaranteed for Leboldus.

The Greenall defense was able to be more effective in the second half, but it still wasn’t enough. LeBoldus won the game by a commanding 66 points, shutting out Greenall.
Greenall quarter back Tyler Menske said that the team has a lot of young players, several of which played their first game of high school football. He said that they will be working on improving all aspects of their game before they play Campbell this Thursday. He hopes that now that the nerves of the first game are behind them that they can move past this loss and use it as a learning experience.

While Greenall is a young team this season LeBoldus has many returning players this year. Quarterback Noah Picton said that despite the big win they aren’t going to let it go to their heads. He said they still have a lot of growing to do as a team, and many things to work on.

In other 4A games Balfour defeated Sheldon 20-2, Knoll beat Thom 41-25, and Riffell beat Campbell 22-7.
