Semi-Final Playoffs

Thursday, November 4th

Holy Trinity 21, Pickering 13
The Holy Trinity Titans will have the opportunity to defend their LOSSA Senior Championship as they defeated the Pickering Trojans 21-13. The Titans, who had lost their season opener to Pickering 28-13, struck early with a pair of first quarter touchdowns, the first on a 47 yard pass to Tyler Ganhao and the second by Nathaniel Allen on a three yard run.  Joe Matromarco added both converts.  Following a scoreless second quarter, the Trojans would erupt for two touchdowns in the last seven minutes of the third quarter to pull within one.  The first touchdown was a 95 yard pass and run by Andy Collison and the second was scored on a 39 yard run by Raekwon Grant.  Mike Stobbart converted the first touchdown however his second attempt was blocked thereby preserving a slim one point margin for the Titans.  The Trojans were able to scoop up a fumble by Allen on a punt return early in the fourth quarter giving them possession on the Trinity side of the field.  The Titan defense held the Trojans and a punt into the end zone, which could have produced the tying point, was returned out of the end zone for a touchback to the twenty yard line.  Holy Trinity, aided by several Trojan penalties, then reeled off a 90 yard drive culminating with a five yard run by Allen with less than a minute to go.  The ensuing convert by Mastromarco increased the lead to eight.  The Trojans with little time on the clock once again saw a long pass completion negated by an offside penalty call and the Titan defense held firm to preserve the victory.
