Wilson 42, St. Mary 0 Chivon Gallagher put on a clinic in the Tier One Senior season opener.Ā Ā Gallagher, who plays on both offense and defense contributed two keyĀ interceptions, a fumble recovery, a fake punt which he ran for a firstĀ down, a touchdown, five converts and an Earl Anderson type leap as theĀ Gators exploded for five touchdowns in just over one quarter ofĀ football.Ā Neither team was able to post a point through the firstĀ sixteen minutes of the game. Omar Williams, with a nineteen yard carry,Ā broke the scoreless draw.Ā Williams (10 yards) and Gallagher (fourĀ yards) would each add touchdowns prior to the half to increase the leadĀ to 21-0.Ā Williams on a three yard run and twenty-one yard passĀ reception increased the margin to 35-0 by the midway mark of the thirdĀ quarter.Ā A last minute touchdown by Williams on a nine yard run,Ā converted by Matt Channon closed out the scoring.

The defending league and Metro Bowl champions tasted defeat in theirĀ opening game of the 2011 season as they fell to the Pickering TrojansĀ 28-13.Ā The Trojans relied on the ground attack of Tristan Clough andĀ Raekwon Grant as well as the arm of quarterback Jesse St. John whoĀ connected for several long pass completions with his favourite targetĀ being the fleet footed Evan Joynes.Ā Clough on short runs from the twoĀ and one yard line posted both first half touchdowns.Ā Both touchdownsĀ were converted by Mike Stobbart, who finished the day with a four forĀ four effort.Ā Jon Codrington with a booming 59 yard punt single thatĀ travelled through the end zone provided the only scoring point for theĀ Titans in the opening half.Ā The Titans struck in the third quarter whenĀ Nik Shymko found the end zone from fifteen yards out however St. JohnĀ immediately connected with Joynes for a seventy-five yard pass and run.Ā Ā The teams exchanged fourth quarter touchdowns as Nathaniel Allen (fromĀ the one) and Raekwon Grant (two yard carry) closed out the scoring.

The Saints displayed two different tactics to humble the defending TierĀ Two champions 59-0.Ā In the opening half, the pinpoint passing of EricĀ Kimmerly picked apart the Rebel secondary as the Saints led byĀ twenty-five at the intermission.Ā With Kimmerly resting, during theĀ second half, the Saints went exclusively to the ground game adding fiveĀ more touchdowns.Ā Posting touchdowns for Paul Dwyer were Jordan DuncanĀ (carries ofĀ 7, 4 and 35 yards), Jake Radford (4 and 10 yard runs),Ā Kimmerly (6 yard keeper), Aaron Champagne (13 yard pass reception),Ā Dillando Allotey (48 yards) and Bryce MacDonald (40 yards).Ā EvanĀ Jolicoeur added one convert while Champagne contributed four point afterĀ kicks.Ā The Saints, who have yet to be scored on this season, remainĀ unbeaten through two games while the Rebels, playing in their seasonĀ opener are 0-1.

The Celtics evened their record at 1-1 as they shut out the RichardsonĀ Storm 22-0.Ā Ā Kyle Parker was credited with the only points of theĀ opening quarter as the Storm were trapped in their end zone for aĀ safety.Ā Midway through the second quarter, Kyle Lampaugh upped theĀ margin to 9-0 with a six yard touchdown run,Ā converted by Matt Gynn,Ā who finished the day with two converts.Ā Mitch Laplaunt on a short runĀ in the third quarter and Chris Mackey with a twenty-one yard passĀ reception in the final two minutes closed out the scoring.Ā The StormĀ fell to 0-2 with the loss.
Pine Ridge 27, Denis O’Connor 14
Pine Ridge has opened with two wins as they turned back the 0-2 DenisĀ O’Connor Chargers 27-14.Ā Complete scoring details were not available.
O’Neill 16, St. Stephen 7
The Senior Red Hawks picked up their second win in two starts as theyĀ turned back the Royals 16-7.Ā Greg Norris and Trey Campbell eachĀ recorded touchdowns while Brendan Costello notched his fifth field goalĀ of the season along with a convert.Ā Connor Vale replied for the RoyalsĀ with all seven scoring points (touchdown and a convert.Ā St. StephenĀ remains winless through two games.

Uxbridge 8, Notre Dame 7
Chris Gladney’s punt single in the opening quarter proved to be theĀ difference as the Uxbridge Tigers edged by the Notre Dame Cougars 8-7.Ā Ā The win lifted the Tigers record to 2-0. Notre Dame was playing theirĀ season opener.Ā Kouvhan Dakin opened the game with an electrifyingĀ kickoff return to give the Cougars the early lead.Ā Brandon Dixon uppedĀ the margin to seven with the convert.Ā Gladney’s punt single reduced theĀ lead to 7-1 later in the opening quarter.Ā In the second quarter, JacobĀ Wilson (from one yard out) knotted the game at seven.Ā Lee Cowie addedĀ the point after to close out the scoring in this tight defensivelyĀ played game.

The Junior Gators tallied seven touchdowns before the half as they wonĀ their Tier One season opener 48-6 over the St. Mary Monarchs.Ā LeadingĀ the Gator attack was Andrew Smith who found the house three times onĀ runs of 53, 3 and 23 yards.Ā Also scoring rushing touchdowns were JohnĀ Stewart with two and Jordan Grimes.Ā George Gonsalves-Akers posted theĀ final touchdown with a 21 yard pass reception.Ā Malcom Branton kickedĀ four converts while Adam Perroni added a two point convert.Ā TheĀ Monarchs had the only scoring play of the second half as quarterbackĀ Provo Raishaun scored from four yards out to avoid the shut out.

The Holy Trinity Junior team parlayed a long opening drive march for aĀ touchdown along with two successful onside kicks into twenty-fourĀ minutes of ball possession to open the game.Ā Finding themselves in aĀ 12-0 deficit, the Trojans immediately turned the ball over on a fumbleĀ on their opening snap and the Titans struck for a third touchdown lessĀ than a minute later to up the margin to eighteen.Ā With just over twoĀ minutes remaining, the Titans added a fourth touchdown on a seventeenĀ yard run by Derek Cyr.Ā The first three Titan touchdowns were by NathanĀ Jones (12 yards) and Quarterback Chris Waldinsperger with two one yardĀ keepers.Ā Jon Codrington added a convert on the final touchdown.

The Junior Saints overcame a 14-6 half time deficit with a fourĀ touchdown outburst in the second half to hand the Rebels their secondĀ consecutive defeat to start the season. Scoring touchdowns for PaulĀ Dwyer were Michael D’Annunzio with four (17, 80, 83 and 36 yards) andĀ Keegan Brand with two (38 and 35 yards).Ā D’Annunzio also added twoĀ converts for the 2-0 Saints.Ā The Rebels posted four touchdown via theĀ pass with Matthew Reid (21 and and 4 yards) and Trenton Roy-Mugford (60Ā and 15 yards) picking up two majors each.Ā Braeden VavassoriĀ successfully converted all four Rebel touchdowns.

The Bowmanville Talons recorded their second consecutive victory toĀ start the season.Ā In each of the two games to date, Kyler Woodburn hasĀ contributed twenty scoring points with three touchdowns and a two pointĀ convert.Ā Also scoring for the Talons were Kyle Kelly with a touchdownĀ and Jake Gagnoc with a two point convert.Ā Ā Adonis Martin posted bothĀ touchdowns for the Spartans who were playing their first game of theĀ season.
Eastdale 21, Pine Ridge 6
The Eagles have opened the season with back to back victories as theyĀ downed the Pumas 21-6.Ā With two touchdowns, Riley Palmer has nowĀ tallied seven majors for the season.Ā Tyler Simpson also picked up aĀ touchdown for the defending champions while Ben Donnelly was successfulĀ on all three convert attempts.Ā Replying for the Pumas, who are winlessĀ after two games, was Khoysa Henderson.
St. Stephen 63, O’Neill 13
The high powered Royals offence posted a league high 63 scoring pointsĀ as they rolled to a 63-13 win over O’Neill.Ā Mitch Reece with threeĀ touchdowns and Adam Bateman and Darby Bradley with two each paced theĀ nine touchdown attack.Ā Also adding single majors were SebastianĀ Shearing and Cameron Asselin.Ā Cameron completed the Royals scoring withĀ a perfect nine for nine convert performance.Ā Ā Isaiah Wilson scoredĀ both O’Neill touchdowns while Colin Flamminio added one convert.Ā Ā Through two games the undefeated Royals have tallied 104 scoring pointsĀ while the Red Hawks, who are still seeking their first win of theĀ season, have surrendered 101 points.
