OFC: Stampeders involved in another tight game

As week 3 has concluded, the Burlington Stampeders found themselves in a game that came down to the final whistle. While dealing with many obstacles throughout the game, the club proved their potential.

The Stampeders have been known as one of the premier organizations in all of the OFC, year in and year out. This year the team has a few more younger players as per usual, and have started off slow sitting at 1-1-1.

While visiting the Chatam-Kent Cougars this past week, expectations were raised within the locker room. From first whistle till last, this game was very physical, as both teams continued to go shot for shot. Two key players from the Stamps were seriously hurt, and the team is unsure about when there return will be. This made it that much harder on the young team, but they managed to claw their way back against the tough Cougars. Many players contributed to the outcome on both sides of the ball but in the end the game concluded as a poor result for both sides, finishing 21-21. Alec Robertson was chosen as the teams player of the game in the tie.

With the weekend rolling in, the Stampeders look to get back on track as we hit the midway point of the season. They will visit the Forest City Thunderbirds on June 16th, which should be another good match up.
