How they got here:

Assumption defeated Saugeen District (Bluewater) in the semi-final game 39 to 23.

In the quarter final qualifier Assumption defeated Our Lady of Lourdes (Guelph) 41 to 35 in an epic triple overtime victory. It was a good thing they did it in triple overtime because their was not enough light for a fourth period.

Herman defeated Catholic Central (London) in the semi-final game 19 to 9. CCH was the bigger team but like all year it was the Hermans speed that won out.

In quarter final action they defeated Northern (Sarnia) 28 to 17, avenging last years 4 to 3 bowl playdown loss.

Holy Trinity defeated Upper Canada College (CISAA) 25 to 16 in semi-final playdowns.
They defeated Donald Wilson 33 to 32 in a thriller in Durham finals.

King City had an easy time with Richview (Toronto) 55 to 23 in the semi-finals. Upset York Region powerhouse Huron Heights 28 to 0 in York finals.

Westgate had a direct entry from being Thunder Bay winner. In that championship game they squeaked out a 8 to 3 victory.

Superior Heights defeated West Ferris (Nippissing) 38 to 20 in the semi-final game.

Last time a Sault St. Marie team has lost is 1995 in NOSSA action.

Sydenham defeated St. Peter’s (Ottawa) 21 to 7 in semi-final action. In the quarter finals they defeated St. Joe’s (Cornwall) 27 to 11 after being down at half.

Crestwood defeated Bear Creek (Simcoe) 24 to 0 in semi-final action. In the quarter finals they defeated Centennial (Belleville) 16 to 10.

Lakeshore Gators (Port Colbourne)

How they got here:

Lakeshore defeated St. Thomas More (Hamilton Catholic) in the semi-finals 30 to 14. In quarter final action they defeated Sir Allan MacNab (Hamilton Public) 20 to 3.

Notre Dame defeated St. Marguerite d’Youville (Peel) 41 to 7 in semi-final action. They defeated Holy Trinity in the Halton final to qualify for the semi’s by a score of 22 to 9.

This is the third straight match up between these two team in the Golden Horseshoe Bowl.
Notre Dame won last year 33 to 10 and Lakeshore won in 2008 by a score of 8 to 7.
