Ontario (Peel): d’Youville Panthers continue domination

The St. Marguerite d’Youville Panthers continued to dominate their season with a 51-0 win over the Cardinal Ambroziac River Hawks.

The d’Youville Panthers were at it again, posting their 5th defensive shutout of the year in as many games.  The team has been really impressive, outscoring their opponents 233-6 in their first 5 games of the regular season.  With the win, the Panthers have clinched first place in Peel’s north division, and looked as if they gave most of their offensive starters a rest after mid-second quarter.
On the Panthers opening drive, QB Dwight Henville connected with WR Cordelle Walden for a 47 yard gain, which was capped off by a 6 yard touchdown run by RB Kadeem Moses.  d’Youville RB Jadon Johnson played limited minutes, but recorded 180 yards and 2 touchdowns in only 8 carries.  Also, scoring for the Panthers was FB Damian Halstead with 2 touchdowns, and RBs Sayvon Johnson and Paul Wisdom both added a touchdown.  The Panthers moved the ball well all game due to their offensive line, who once again blocked very well as a unit.  Kicker Emmanuel Esho added 6 converts and a 34 yard field goal.
On the defensive side of the ball, d’Youville seems to have a lot of depth, and it has been hard for opponents to gain yardage on them.  The defensive line were extremely aggressive and physical, and were hard for Cardinal Ambroziac’s offensive line to contain.  LB Marcel Ugoh once again recorded 3 sacks, and LB Nakas Onyeka also added a sack.  The River Hawks were unable to run the ball on d’Youville’s front 7.  When Ambroziac attempted to throw the ball, things ended up even worse, with FS Dwight Henville picking off two deep passes, and LB Darnell Downey also picking off a pass up the middle.
The St. Marguerite d’Youville Panthers are now 5-0 in the regular season, and look to go undefeated when they host the St. Thomas Aquinas Cardinals next Thursday at 12:00pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
