The Lions opened the scoring on their first possession with a Josh Baird 40 yard pass to Connor MacCallum. In the 2nd Quarter, Baird demonstrated his running ability as he scampered for a 44 yard touchdown to make the score 14-0. The Lions opened the 3rdquarter by showcasing their run game in a time consuming 9 minute, 83 yard drive capped by a Marcus Arkarakas 7 yard run to put the Lions in front 21-0. The Lions increased their lead to 28-0 as Julian Gutierrez took a Baird hitch pass inside the Colts’ 15 yard line and bulldozed his way to pay dirt. With under 2 minutes to play, the Colts were able to thwart King’s shutout bid as they capitalized on a King City fumble in the Lions’ red zone and drove the short field for a touchdown.
