SAC (CFC #8) remains Undefeated Topping TCS

The Varsity Football Saints (CFC #8) closed out the regular season with a road game against the Trinity College Bears this afternoon in Port Hope. All week long, the team was reminded that Trinity ended our season last year with a defeat on Ackerman Field. This year’s Saints were eager to avenge that loss, and did so in convincing fashion with a dominant 47-14 victory.http://www.canadafootballchat.us/news/attachments/2722-sac-4-jpg.html

Running back Yannick Harou once again led the offence, scoring 3 tds and adding over 200 yards on the ground. Slot back Casey Cook continued his outstanding season by scoring 2 tds and adding over 100 receiving yards. Dave Head, Josh Smith, and Jamal Kett also made plays all over the field, and Kett added an electric 80 yard kickoff return for the Saints 6th and final touchdown. Despite some uncharacteristic errors, quarterback Mark Sandell made several exceptional throws, while the Saints offensive line completely manhandled the Trinity defensive front 7. Kicker Alex Harris was a perfect 2-2 on field goals and added 5 converts.

The Saints defence controlled the pace of the game against the Trinity offence for most of the afternoon. β€œ8, 9, 10” once again created havoc in the opposition’s backfield, while the secondary swarmed to the football. This was emphasized by ball hawk safety Dylan Hewko, who picked off his fourth interception of the season.

Today’s victory closed out a perfect regular season for the Saints. Combining league and non-conference results, the team sits with a 7-0 record and first place in the CISAA. These results earned the team a bye directly into the CISAA semi-finals, which will take place on Wednesday, November 3rd at home on Ackerman Field.
